An Australian soldier stands on top of a hill in front of his camp. He turns to look at his comrades, too scared to begin the battle. He screams at them to start the battle, as he draws his pistol and runs down the hill to fight. In less than a second, a lucky British soldier shoots him right between the ribs, striking his heart and killing him in an instant. However, this isn't the end of his story.
A Haileen is a man or woman who has died and gone to Hell, though the sins they committed were caused by madness. As such, they are allowed back into the mortal world after a 100 years of exile in Hell, as a means to come to terms with their madness, or seek a way to dispel it.
Haileens often vaguely look similar to when they did in life, however, the transformation from whatever race they were before to a Haileen has an effect on them. Their skin becomes a ghostly white, and they look extremely malnourished. However, they don't require food or water to sustain their own existence. Their hair color will change to any color on the visible spectrum. As such, a Haileen can have any hair color, red, blue, yellow, or anything in between, though their hair is rarely the same color as most humans. Haileens will always carry the wound of whatever injury finally sent them to their grave. The wound itself never possess any health problems to a Haileen, and never hurts.
Haileens are not immortal. When sent to the mortal realm, they can still die like any other mortal. Despite their frail appearance, a Haileen is as physically able as they were in life.
A Haileen, upon death, will no longer be referred to as their old name. That part of them is long behind them. They will forever adopt a new, 3 letter name, examples being: Tas, Era, Tak, Bal, Ren, and so on.
Haileens, once sent to Hell, gain an inherit power they can use at will. This power relates to their character, and how they were slain. For example, one Haileen, Nul, was an actor before he was slain. As such, he has gained the ability to instantly disguise himself as anyone he desires, and he mostly uses this as a means to circumvent purchasing costumes for himself.
(If anyone has any questions about this race, just ask! This race is meant for settings with magic in them, either medieval, modern, or futuristic.)

Hey! This seems very, very creative and unique! Very interesting idea! I may be considering this demon species in the making of my new character.
