“The myth behind Redcaps is that when travellers take refuge in their lair they will fling huge stones at them, and if they kill the traveller they will soak their caps in the travellers blood, giving it a crimson hue. However, they may be driven away by repeating words of Scripture or holding up the cross. They will then utter a dismal yell and vanish in flames, leaving behind a large tooth on the spot where they were last seen.”

Damien just sat casually in his chair listening to the teacher then getting bored pulled out a coin and began flipping it with ease.

“Would you stop flipping that coin?” She asked getting annoyed. Her faced made her look grouchy and mad but that was her normal face. She never smiled nor laughed much at all.

Althea stopped as she heard Adi speaking in the back, “Did you have any questions Adi?” She asked, giving the girl a small smile.

“Nope.” Adi said.”His coin flipping is annoying me.” She said pointing to Damian.

Iggy looked like she were pondering something, the held her hand up in the air.

“I’m sorry I’ll stop for a little while” Damien says smirking.

Althea nodded, “Now, before I dismiss you, feel free to ask this Redcap any questions. Despite his demeanour he does speak.”

“What is a red cap?” She asked.

Jackie had many questions, but she didn't raise her hand. She was very shy and quiet, so she decided not to.

"Scwew the hand. Miss, wouwnd't it waise ethicaw qwuestions with the enslavement of a sentient species?"

Damien chuckled cruelly at Iggy. “Your English could use some work there bub.” Damien says not caring for the reaction of everyone in the room.

“They’re a type of Goblin.” Althea answered, before turning to Iggy, igniting Damien. “That’s a very good question. It originated as them being solely for the Winter Queen, who they absolutely adore. Over time, they began to serve the rest of the faerie species. Most of the Redcaps actually enjoy their jobs, and most faeries use them as a sort of bodyguard. We do give them payments for their service to us.” She explained.
