Hi everyone! I'm going to pop this in here because, well:

• I'd love to draw your characters!
• But I'd also love to have my own characters drawn (because I enjoy seeing other artists' impressions of my characters)!

So here's the premise: You draw one of my characters below, and in return I'll draw one of yours.

As much as I love my characters (as I'm sure some of you other artists know), I just can't be bothered drawing them myself. It's much more fun to draw designs of someone else!
The two characters that I'd like artwork of are as follows (click for their profile):



Give a fullbody sketch, get a fullbody sketch. Give a coloured headshot, get a coloured headshot, and so on and so forth.

No pressure to produce anything finished, I want this to be a creative haven. If you want to try something new, whether it works or not, go for it!
All I ask is that you post your half of the trade first, and give me two of your characters to choose from. You're not limited to just one drawing, it's entirely up to you.

Just showing you a WIP since her reference art hasn't got any colour.


The patterns will happen in shading.
I am also happy to change lines if I've made any major errors.

Hello, I'd really like to draw Ardira, if that's okay? I'd like to do a limited palette thing, as a full body piece with her.

I have my two mermen, Mercury or Filippo (though Mercury has more ref art), Blackbeard (except he's only a head technically), or Thrax if you don't mind 'Taurs and that I've not filled in his profile beyond two reference images.

Hi Mori, of course that sounds good - I'll take a stab at Mercury (merman ftw!); but do you have any full body references of him? I can't see any visual information on what his lower body looks like. I can take a stab based on his description but I do prefer to work from full visual references (for peace of mind that I get it right).
Aah Claine I love her, thank you so much. Admittedly I'm much further behind with my half of the trade, but I've finished the sketch; going to be tidying lines this evening. Here she is so far.
Do her horns have any particular texture btw? Like gazelle, or sheep? Or are they more akin to deer antlers?

Update: I've started doing the lines and played around with a bit of texture on the horns: if it doesn't work I can remove it but here's the lines so far.

Aaa your lining is so elegant! I'm sorry to make you redo work you've already done, but I do prefer her horns to have a smooth texture.

Aw thank you; I'm glad you think so. It's been a long while since I did any digital line art (since I normally prefer drawing my lines traditionally), so I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out.

Here's the plain colours & lines for you; still tweaking little things until I'm happy but you get the idea so far.

Hi, I've no full body references that of him exactly, aside from the glimpses of his partial full body in the panels of the comic, but if you're okay working with art of someone else's OC that's similar to what Mercury has, I can pass on this reference as a general idea for what his lower half looks like? As for his markings, he's got the same markings as a Barracuda does.

I'm having trouble designing my D&D character Chamarra. I'll gladly draw a character of yours if you help me out! If not then I'll put this guy up as well.

Hey, I got caught up in moving prep, but I hadn't forgotten that I wanted to draw Ardira, and while I did forget that I wanted to do a limited palette and instead did a full colour, I feel happy with this end result either way. Is anything drastically off here?

Hello! Sorry for the slow reply; I'd rather not design characters here, just working from visual references. I love Matthias though; big DA fan so I'd like to do a bust shot of him!
