"I find I sleep when things become... numerously stressful. Though I don't know if that is a common trait among vampires," he said, brushing his hair out straight. Even though he was an undead, he didn't have all the details to them. He had never been among many of his kind, and honestly, he really didn't care about the non-lethal things.
"Perhaps I should feed. It may give me enough time before I recieve a reply from my coorespondant," he said, pointing to his mirror.

Zalia nodded a little. She could understand that. "I see." She watched him, and after her moment of affection earlier while she was 'sleeping', she couldn't help but look at him rather admiringly. When he mentioned feeding, she snapped out of it and nodded.
"That's probably a good idea." She smiled at him. "I can stay here if you'd like, in case your coorespondant tries to contact you."

Alezander nodded, and then turned, leaving the room. Hopefully feeding would help clear his mind a bit. He made his way into his basement, to do what he needed.
As Zalia waited for him, she would notice that a few minutes after Alezander had left, the mirror would begin to ripple, like it had done the time in his room. The surface looked smokey and faded and after a moment, a thin, sealed envelope slipped through and landed gently onto the table.

Zalia waited patiently, and when the envelope came she picked it up with delicate fingers. She got up and went to the kitchen, knowing that while she shouldn't disturb Alezander from feeding, this letter was important and she couldn't let it wait. She knocked on the door to the basement. "Alezander, a letter came from the mirror."
She took a couple steps back, just in case he was angry at her being this close to his room full of blood. A vampire was indeed territorial.

Alezander had just finished his feeding when he heard Zalia knock on the door. He sat his glass to the side and brushed his hair from his face. He, for some reason, did not feel the need to defend, even though she was indeed so close. He figured it was because he was so comfortable with her.
He opened the door and looked to the letter she held. "Ah, excellent. That was quick," he said, taking it from her. His fingers delicately opened the paper, and he held it out to read. After a long moment, he gave a silent nod, and went up to his room in the fading manner he usually did, but not before saying, "Zalia, pack your things. We are leaving."

Zalia nodded when he spoke of packing. She went upstairs and packed up some clothes, then packed things for Shadow as well. She couldn't just leave the poor thing alone in the mansion after all! She settled the bunny in his basket, shouldered her own bag, and went downstairs to wait for Alezander. She was kind of excited. His sister must be alive, if they were leaving somewhere. So that meant there was still a chance for Alezander to be free!
Alezander came down, wearing his white jacket and holding a bag over his shoulder. He made a quick detour to the study, to take money he had stored for safe keeping. He joined with Zalia soon, saying, "This should be more than enough to hold us over." He made sure to place the money in a safe place. He was glad he had saved some money now.
"We must hurry. My sister is said to be ill, and the more time we waste, the less our chances of solving this become." He opened the door, allowing her the chance to leave first.

Zalia nodded and left the house with him. She would go with him as fast as they could to where his sister was staying. She was ill, their chances were slim, but at least they still had a chance. She hoped desperately that his sister would still be alive when they reached her. They needed her blood.
Zalia just wanted Alezander to be free.
Zalia just wanted Alezander to be free.
He walked quietly down the road, that led away from the town and his home. He had almost wanted to tell Kai she could stay in his home to watch it, but he knew she would refuse. So instead, he just continued, glancing quietly at the path they had taken to see the flowers and the lake. But they passed it, going further into an area he wasn't quite familiar with.
He glanced over his shoulder, feeling Zalia should know where they were headed exactly. "My sister is a few towns over. We would just continually keep travelling, but I'm sure you know the sun is going to hinder our journey eventually. We will stop in each town to rest, as to avoid any chance of being caught in the sunlight."

Zalia didn't like the idea of staying in that town. "Alright." They had no choice, though. She just followed him along, and at one point she quickened her pace just enough to catch up to him and take his hand in hers. "I'm scared." was her whispered excuse. It was night and they were outside. It was a good excuse, because her father could possibly show up. Alezander already knew she was paranoid about her father.
Alezander looked down to her when she took his hand in hers. "Don't worry," was all he said, and gave her hand a gentle squeeze. He wouldn't let her know that he read through the excuse, only because of what had happened when she had seen him sleeping. But, to be honest, he didn't mind at all. He merely grinned as he walked.
The trees began to thicken as they traveled down the path, and each side of them let in less and less moonlight. But his eyes allowed him to see well, and he had heightened his sense of hearing. And as far as he could tell, they were safe at the moment. Nothing seemed to be around them.

Zalia hid the sweet little smile that touched her lips by ducking her head a little bit. She had Alezander, so she felt safe. It made her heart beat a little faster, to be holding his hand. She thought back on Maria's words. Yes, he was that special to her. He was the most important thing in her life. In her world.
She longed badly to tell him that. To admit how she felt about him. But she just couldn't do it. Any reason would just be an excuse not to do it, but she could come up with several excuses. Still...it all came down to the fact that she simply lacked the courage, and felt that she was not good enough for him.

As they walked, Alezander had come to a quick realization that he had not brought any of his stored blood with him. It was far too late to turn back now, but he couldnt help but feel he needed to. It had been so long since he had killed someone himself, and it would be a monsterous feeling to do so again. He felt it to be unlike him. He felt he was better than that; to resort to feeding off of someone directly. But mostly, he didn't want Zalia to see him doing so. He didn't want anyone to see. Even that was why he feed by himself in the basement. He was, somewhat, ashamed of what he was.
But he came back out of his thoughts when he heard a wild dog howling in the diatance, and then several more joining in. He pulled Zalia closer to him, letting her know that she was still safe.

Zalia tensed up when she heard the howling, moving closer to Alezander just as he pulled her to him. "Is that...usual?" She swallowed nervously and held onto his hand a bit tighter. "Everything's okay...right?" Now she was nervous. Howling. Even she knew that wolves and such were rather dangerous. And since she wasn't exactly immortal or impervious, she was a bit more wary of such things.
"Well, we are away from the town. I suppose it is more common for them to be here," he said, smiling to her. He found it somewhat cute that she was worried. Mostly because he wasn't going to let anything hurt her. He had just fed before they left, so he was at his top performance.
"Zalia, tell me. What did Maria say to you when she regained her body? I was able to see everything, but there was an uncontrollable rage in me and my sight and smell were the only senses of mine working. I'm hoping she might not get the idea to visit my sister before we get there."

Zalia blinked. "What? O-oh, nothing...nothing much. She just said about how naive I was and stuff..." She didn't mention what had gone on truly, where Zalia had attacked relentlessly. Begging for his release.
She just couldn't bring herself to tell him of her feelings. "I don't think she will. She's probably rather confident now that you're all hers."

"I'm hardly that," he said, giving a scoff. "Maybe my body and my mind, but after what happened, she doesn't control my heart. She can't have me completely anymore." It was true, he felt less and less attached to Maria the more time went on, but it was indeed a slow process. She had proven what she was, and what she thought of him.
"I will fight her with all I can, if it comes down to it." He wanted to tell her something important, about what might happen, but he thought it best to wait.

Zalia listened to him. "Good. I'm here to help you, too. I will fight her with you." She looked at him for a few moments and then sighed softly and looked away. "She doesn't deserve you. Nobody should control a person like that. Nobody."
She shook her head. "I don't know what she would even want with you. I just don't understand..." She wanted to help him as much as she could.

"You're right, no one should be controlled like that," he said, looking down to her. He was, of course, referring to her father. Though it was a different kind of control, it still was just that.
"More than likely, she thinks me her posession, or pet. And who would just want to give that up?" he said, giving a sigh as well. He didn't like the idea of being someone's property at all. It definitely didn't suit him, he thought. And that, itself, seemed to burden him. He felt like he was being watched all the time, now; though he found it highly improbable.

Zalia flinched a little when he mentioned the controlling. Yes, she knew what he was getting at. She sighed a little and just shook her head slightly. "It's not as easy as drinking the blood as a relative.." she murmured.
She listened to him and nodded. "It's stupid. You're your own person." She looked at him for a few moments, and smiled a little. "Don't worry, you're going to be doing just great."
