Alezander slowed, looking at house numbers as they passed. He looked at each house number, the streets signs, trying to find where he was. They had made good time to the town, but he didn't want to waste any trying to figure out where they were.
"Ah... Maybe..." he was saying, but mostly to himself. He noticed the name of the street he was looking for, and walked down it quickly. Soon he stopped in front of a large house. He set Zalia down, almost forgetting that he was carrying her. He took a deep breath. "This is it."
It was a very big estate, and very handsome. It had a big, open iron gate, and he didn't hesitate to walk through it, heading toward the door. Supposedly, his sister had been told that she would have a visitor, but he didn't know if she knew it would be him.

Zalia was surprised when he found the house. Surprised and relieved, of course. She followed him right in, hoping for the best. She pleaded mentally that his sister was still alive. She needed to be alive, because Alezander needed to live. Zalia wondered if she would be able to control herself though, if blood was spilled near her. She was already so thirsty.
She just hoped everything wasn't in the worst-case-scenario pile.

He knocked lightly on the large door, seeming a bit nervous. It was only a moment later though, when the door opened slowly and a young girl was looking up at them both. She didn't say anything, but hid a little behind the door. Alezander seemed suprised by her presence, but asked in a gentle voice, "Is Samantha home?"
The little girl didn't reply, but looked up to him with curious eyes. Then the door opened a bit more as a man pulled it back to see who was at the door. Unlike the little girl's reaction, this man seemed to have been expecting them. "You must be Alezander," he said, and then gave a quick glance to Zalia. He had not been expecting her.
"Ah, so my sister knew I was coming," Alezander said, not suprised. His sister had a way of getting information if she wanted it. The man held out his hand in front of him, sweeping it toward the house as an invitation in. But Alezander didn't move to the gesture.
"I'm sorry, but I need a verbal invitation inside a home," he said, bowing slightly, adding to the apology.
"Right. Please come in," the man said, stepping aside now so they could enter. Alezander took the invitation, and entered the house, motioning for Zalia to follow. As they followed the man, Alezander asked, "So, how are you related to my sister?"
The man glanced back over his shoulder, giving a short reply of, "I'm her son." Alezander could only guess that the young girl was his daughter, and therefore, his sister's grand-daughter.

Zalia blushed as she was looked to. She knew she wasn't expected, so she just bowed her head in apology. She was surprised to hear that the woman had not only a child, but grandchildren too. She shouldn't have, really. It was natural. Samantha, as Alezander's sister was called, was just a human. "H-how is Samantha?" she asked hesitantly. She followed Alezander in and stayed close to him.
This might be bad. For Alezander to feed from Samantha while her family was around. Would they be allowed to get a moment of peace alone with the old lady?

"She is not well, and we are afraid she might pass soon," the man said, as he led them to the back of the home. He stopped at a door, and moved to the side to let Alezander passed. As Alezander placed his hand on the door, the man spoke again. "I have an idea why you are here. Mother tried to explain it, but it seems far fetched to me. But, I do respect her wishes."
Alezander raised a brow. So his sister had known about the situation, and the solution? Just how much did she know? And, he was also surprised that she might be willing to help. He nodded his head though, stepping quietly into the room.
It had a faint scent of roses, and the room was lined with antiques. And along the far wall, there was a bed, and covered by a heavy amount of blankets, was an old woman. It didn't take long, for her to speak.
"Alezander... Just as I remember you..." she said, her voice sounding very frail like her. "And who is this, that you have brought?"

Zalia nodded a little. "Everyone has a time." she said quietly, hoping to comfort the man. She would follow them to the room, staring in surprise at the old woman. She was also concerned with the fact that Samantha knew about the situation. How? Had their father told her, but not Alezander? Why not Alezander? It was all very confusing.
Zalia blushed and walked over to the old woman. "H-hello, ma'am. My name is Zalia. I'm a friend of your brother's. I'm sorry for intruding, I know you weren't expecting Alezander to have company with him."

"Not at all," Samantha said, giving a soft, warm smile to Zalia. She turned her gaze to Alezander, who seemed unsure what he should be doing. "I was hoping to see you once more, before I passed on. But, my death isn't what brought you to see me, is it?"
"No... but, I didn't find out about your sickness, until I needed to find you. And... I didn't think you would want to see me anyway," he said, his voice low, and quiet. He seemed somewhat afraid to carry on a conversation with his only living relative. Samantha gave a weak laugh.
"That is just like you, Zander. I was angry, when I said those words. If I had known that I wouldn't see you again until now, I would have never said those things." She slowly sat up, to get a better look at him. "I'm sure Father would have said the same. Before he passed, he told me of the bond between you and Maria... and how to break it. He would have told you himself, but you never came home. And he couldn't leave papers for you, not knowing if you would come back, or if the information would fall into Maria's hands."
Alezander seemed shocked by what she was saying, and yet relieved at the same time. "You... don't hate me?"
"No, Zander... I never did. You're my brother."
A small smile crept on Alezander's face, and his eyes were watery, but he didn't shed a tear. But the emotion he was feeling was obvious. "Well, I'm sorry it took me so long. You always did say I was ignorant."

Zalia listened to them both. She felt so bad for him. For both of them. They could have had life together, but things made them both keep apart. "You know how to break the bond, then? Is that...alright, Samantha? I-In your current state..." In her current state, losing blood would probably mean death.
Her eyes went to Alezander. Could he do that? Could he do that to his own sister, who obviously still loved him? She took his hand in hers, looking at him with worry. She hoped everything would be okay. She stayed quiet for the time being and waited for them to work on their current issue.

Samantha looked to the two of them, a sort of curiousity filling her eyes. She smiled with that same warm smile and answered Zalia's question. "Yes, I know. It requires drinking my blood. And as for me being alright with it; I'm quite fine with it. I've lived my life, and I got my final wish. To see my brother. I think I can go as a happy old woman now."
Alezander seemed hesitant. He had finally been reunited with his sister, and learned her true feelings toward him. Did he want to take that moment away so soon? Did he really have a choice? The longer they waited, the more time they gave for something bad to happen. But his sister seemed to notice his hesistation.
"Zander... I said it's fine. Don't give me that look. Just like a lost little boy."
Alezander nodded, but before he approached her, she spoke again, but this time to Zalia. "Do me a favor, sweet girl. Take care of him for me. He tends to get into trouble a lot."

Zalia watched them both. It was heartwarming, and heartbreaking, to hear her being so accepting. "I will." she promised, giving a little chuckle. "Though I think I might get into more trouble than he does.." She giggled softly, but it was very quiet. She remained silent then and would watch.
She had to be there and be Alezander's support, especially if something went wrong. But she doubted it would be easy for her to hold back her thirst.

"Then, come, Zander. Let's finish this..." Samantha said, laying back down on the bed and crossing her hands over her stomache. It was obvious, that she was ready to go. Alezander nodded his head, but the moment he took a step toward her, the bedroom door opened slowly. He turned to see the little child from earlier, looking into the room. Though something seemed to be off. There was a blank look in those eyes.
And then she fell forward, landing with a light thump on the floor. It was apparent then, what had happened. Blood was oozing from her back, a large, open wound between her shoulder blades.
"Now, now... did you think it would be that easy?" came a calm, female voice. One that belonged to Maria. She stepped over the child, and into the room. She let out a girlish giggle. "She was hardly a fight. Her father, on the other hand, took me a little longer to kill."
Samantha looked to Maria, in shock to see her there. And in shock at her words. Alezander blocked the sight of the granddaughter from his sister, and looked to Maria. "You would kill innocent people? For what purpose?"
"Because, I can... It's really simple. And you know what? I'm not going to control you into killing your own sister. That would be too easy. I'm going to let you fight for her life, that way... when I do kill her, you'll be devastated at how weak you really are."

Zalia felt her heart stop. That little girl...and that man. Both dead before the old woman. Her hand covered her mouth in shock. But also... blood. She wanted it. She needed it. She was shaking a little, trying to control herself. "Alezander, drink her blood quickly! I'll handle Maria."
That...was most likely suicide. But she didn't care. She dashed for the woman, more of the vampire side of her coming out than before, due to her hunger. "You're wrong, Maria." She slashed at the woman viciously. "Alezander's not weak at all. He's stronger than anyone I know."
She aimed a kick this time. "He has to suffer immortality. But he does it. He was seperated from his family, but he has kept going. He's strong." Her attacks were getting more vicious and wild; harder and harder to predict. "You can chain him up all you want, Maria....but he'll just break free!"

Drinking his sister's blood was hardly on his mind at this point. What a cruel, horrible thing that just happened. He wanted to kill Maria, but he knew, to do that, he would have to drink from his sister.
Maria was occupied. At first, she laughed carelessly at Zalia's attempts to attack her. But then, it became harder to dodge. She didn't know what the girl was doing. Her laughs turned into grunts as she did her best to avoid being hit, but even that became more frequent. Her eyes glanced to Alezander the moment he neared his sister.
A pain erupted in his chest, and he couldn't help but fall to the floor. And then, a moment later, his motor skills were no longer his own. He felt himself moving toward Zalia, aiming to stop her from attacking.
"I lied," Maria said. "I'll control you when I need you." Alezander moved, and reluctantly, but he couldn't stop it. He tried, his conscious mind tried, but it wouldn't work. He raised his hand toward Zalia. And he stopped. His sister had stepped in front of him, holding her frails arms to the side of her to stop him.
"Zander, I know you better than this. Don't let her control you," she said. Her hair was moved away from her neck, telling Alezander to bite her, to break that control she had over him. Her words seemed to distract his mind from her control. He moved himself slowly toward her, leaning down to bite. "Zalia," Samantha said, looking over her shoulder, "Only a half-blood can kill her. Once Zander breaks her control... rip into her chest and severe her heart."
Alezander's teeth sank into her neck, and she smiled. Several quick moments passed, all while Maria shouted for Alezander to stop, to move away, but to no avail. And then both him and his sister dropped to the floor.

Zalia attacked viciously, again and again. When Alezander started moving towards her, however, she faultered. She stood frozen as he lifted his hand to attack her. No, it couldn't be happening.
And then suddenly Samantha was there. She listened to the old woman's voice and instantly turned on Maria, slashing and attacking again to keep her from trying to stop Alezander. When she heard the bodies hit the floor, she cried out.
"JUST DIE ALREADY!!" she screamed out Maria, attempting to shove her hand right into the woman's chest.

Maria couldn't stop Zalia, having feel some of her strength fade when Alezander fell. She just looked to the girl in front of her, smiling an innocnet, genuine smile.
"I wasn't always this way... you know? Blood corrupts, no matter who we get it from. Over time, the blood corrupts us," she said, and slowly, pieces of her skin began to turn to dust. "I did love him. But... with my black heart... I knew it couldn't be. I'm glad, it's all over." She closed her eyes, her body turning to dust around Zalia's hand. Nothing was left, but the clothes and the off colored dust pile.

Zalia just said one thing. "If you loved him enough...you would have made things work." She stared at the pile of dust, and then got to work. For once, Alezander wasn't the first person she went to. No, she got to work cleaning up the mess Maria made and burying all three family members of that home. She hated Maria. How could that woman do such a thing as kill an innocent little girl? She could understand the child's father, because he could at least attempt to defend himself. But not the girl.
Zalia at last returned to Alezander. She managed to get him onto the bed, and there she would sit until he woke up.
Zalia at last returned to Alezander. She managed to get him onto the bed, and there she would sit until he woke up.
It was nearly an hour after being placed in the bed, that Alezander stirred. He then broke into violent coughing, and he slipped out of the bed and fell to his hands and knees on the floor. He covered his mouth with one hand, continuing the coughing fit. Blood began to slip between his fingers, and it nearly looked like he was going to break in half from the coughing. The blood pooled on the floor below his head, and with one final cough, he took a deep breath, pulling his hand away from his mouth. There, resting in his palm, was a little red stone, just like the one Zalia had given to Maria.
"I see, all went well?" he said, pushing himself up. He looked around, almost as if he had been hoping to see his sister. But he knew she wouldn't be there. He turned his eyes to Zalia, as he wiped the blood from his mouth.

Zalia scrambled to catch him and ease him onto the floor as he had his coughing fit. But when those drops of red stated sliding between his fingers, she jumped back. Her body was quivering, her eyes were wide and red. She was gasping for breath. How long had it been since she'd fed? How much blood had she been exposed to today that she hadn't drank? Mouth hung open as she gasped, fangs sharp and protruding. Her throat burned with thirst.
Her body twitched a couple times with the desire to lunge and attack him. Feed from him and have that precious liquid. "G-gotta g-g-go." she muttered, scrambling for the door. However, she didn't make it. The pain in her throat was far too much. She cried out, clawed at her throat, and then collapsed on the floor. She was barely breathing.

He watched her run, not sure what was happening. And when she fell, he quickly ran to her side. He noticed her fangs, and knew that it had been a while since she fed. "Why didn't you feed when I told you to?" he asked, picking her up. She couldn't feed off of his blood, since it held no life force, so he would only hope to find someone, walking nearby. So much death today. He placed on her the bed, much like she had him, and left quickly. He searched the nearby streets, and eventually found a young man. With quick, unseen movement, the man was knocked unconscious and carried back to the house.
He threw the gentleman on the floor by the bed. "Zalia," he whispered to her, shaking her gently. He hoped she would be conscious long enough to feed.

Zalia stirred as she was shaken, bolting upright with a wild hiss, fangs ready to sink into Alezander's arm. But she spotted the man first. She shoved Alezander aside and practically tumbled onto the floor. Her eyes flashed to Alezander for just a moment, and she reached over to grab the blanket from the bed, yanking it so it fell ontop of her and her prey.
Strangely enough, she didn't want him to watch. Even though he was what she was, at least in the vampire way, she didn't want him to watch. Her fangs sank into the neck of the human and she drank deeply. She was so hungry. At last she pulled away and collapsed again, the blanket tangling her up alone as she fell backwards.
Alezander might notice something, though. The male was breathing. He was still alive. She had fed, but not killed him. She had not Turned him, either.
