Jerian frowned, "Well, you could come with us if you like, I know someone pretty good at healing, both magic and in the more traditional sense. You helped us, so the least we could do is get those ribs seen to."

Kate, meanwhile, had manhandled the vampire into the boot of her car. Before she closed the door on it, the creature hot her a look of loathing and utter hatred, which she replied to with a wink and a grin. Its snarl of outrage was quickly cut off as she slammed the boot door down. She looked over at Jerian, "I can take her in the car." She offered.

Alice felt slightly uncomfortable as she watched the two. The offer of being helped was there for her, but she felt extremely wary not having been around humans much due to how fragile they could be. Another thing was she would out live and average human's life span so getting to know them and end up watching them pass away wasn't something she wanted, but her ribs were hurting and she didn't trust this vampire or the master of it. Nodding she smiled slightly. "Thank you I may be better off taking you up on the help." She told him wincing slightly wondering how badly he had hurt her. Hearing about the car she looked at the thing they called car with even more unease. "That thing looks like a metal death trap." She commented as she looked it over and then back to the two of them. "Is that even safe?" She asked clearly showing how much she wasn't around humans.

Jerian smirked and opened his mouth, probably to disparage Kate's driving skills, when the girl glared at him and said, "It's perfectly safe. I'm very good at driving, and there are safety features in place to protect people in them if something does go wrong."

Jerian started to walk over to his motorcycle, "We'll take you back to The Hub with us and get you patched up whilst we interrogate Nosferatu over there." He jerked his thumb over to the car.

Alice watched the two and looked back to the car again before nodding and getting off the tree the movement irritated her ribs, but she ignored it as she walked over to the human woman near the car. "If you say so." She said looking the car over again and wrinkled her nose at the smell of it before shifting again looking to the male who was going to his motorcycle. "He should be an interesting one to get information from, but I would be careful. Master vampires can use their little minions like his to see for them." She added hating vampires more than anything and she had been raised to know everything about them and how to kill them. Though she still didn't like it. "So how does the metal cage you call a car work exactly?" She asked the human woman worry in her voice since she had never been in one before.

Jerian smiled, "Oh don't worry. We've handled this sort of thing before, and if we spot any signs of spying... we'll be 'showing him the sun' shall we say?"

Kate shot him a look and then gave Alice a reassuring smile, "Well...um... there's an engine in the front that burns fuel to make energy, which is used to..uh... turn the wheels and make it go forward, or backward if you steer it like that. It's perfectly safe. I've been driving for years now."

Jerian got on his motorcycle and reached down to where his helmet dangled off of the handlebars, he put it on and clipped it firmly shut, "It's much safer than one of these things anyway." He said.

Alice watched and smiled. "Well it's good to know humans can handle the vampire spy trick." She said as she looked to the one called Kate and listened as she explained the car thing to her and then looked to the male and looked at his motorcycle. "You know I think the one on two wheels looks safer at least I could escape from it, this one looks a lot harder to escape from." She said as she studied the two and shrugged it off as she went to the passenger side and pulled the handle up so the door would open. "How far would we be going?" She asked curious as she looked from the two.

"It's also much less comfortable to ride on if you've broken a few ribs." Jerian said dryly, "You'll be fine in the car."

"As for how far we're going, not too far. The Hub is located in an old manor house a few miles from here." Kate said as she walked over to the driver's side, opened the door and got in, "It won't take long."

Jerian nodded and twisted the handles on his motorbike, kicking the motor into life, "I'll go on ahead." With that, the teen tore off on his motorbike, speeding away from them.

Kate sighed and shook her head, "He's such a soldier sometimes. He's go off scouting ahead for ambushes." She smiled slightly, "Still, I suppose paranoia is better than getting jumped by more vampires."

Alice watched the two and nodded as she watched the female get in. Following what she did she watched the male take off and looked over at the female hearing her explanation. "True, but could he handle a group of them on his own?" She asked curiously not used to being around humans and what they were capable of. She knew these two could use magic, but then a vampire can still over power a magic user easily. Thinking about where they are going she nodded remembering a place like that when she was out hunting.

Kate nodded, a serious look on her face, "Jerian? Oh yes. No problem. If he's got no one else to worry about, he doesn't have to hold back." Kate switched on the engine and started driving off, "Jerian... well... there's something about him.... I'd never say this to his face, but some of the things I've seen him do are just... not human."

Alice tensed as the metal trap turned on and began to move before turning her attention the Kate trying to not think of the metal trap and getting stuck in it. Nodding she thought it over curious now about him. "Well aren't you two humans who can use elements?" She asked quietly still thinking to herself as she looked ahead and watched for any movement in the tree's becoming curious about these humans and how they exactly function.

Kate nodded, "Yes, though control of the elements is only a small part of it. I'm a Knight Guardian, I specialise in defensive magic; shields, wards, traps, alarms and other such things." She smiled slightly, "Jerian is a Paladin, an Elite Knight in fact. He specialises in offensive magic, though he seems to have a great affinity for wind magic there are also other, non-elemental spells, he knows."

Kate frowned slightly, "And as for being human... well... I certainly am, and we all think Jerian is...but...sometimes.. well, it's hard to see how human he can be when he stares down the Demon Lord Abbaddon himself and laughs in his face after being kidnapped by demons." Kate shrugged, "It'd be easier if we knew who is parents were of course, but he was... well... he didn't have a conventional childhood."

Alice nodded listened having heard of the Knight Guardian and Paladin before though this was the first time she had met any. Listening to her she nodded and thought it over remembering the way he smelled and how now that she thought about it he smelled different compared to Kate. "Well I don't know if this helps from me, but your scents aren't the same. You smell like a human from what I have smelled of them before." She said quietly as she thought over her next sentence. "He didn't quite smell like you he has a little of the human scent, but it's another scent there too that I can't really place though I could be imagining things as well." She said not trying to be rude as she looked over at Kate. "Sorry I am just curious about all this been keeping to the woods and away from everyone else." She told her with an apologetic smile on her face hoping she didn't offend Kate in the less. "By the way my name is Alice I don't think I ever told you my name."

Kate smiled and nodded, "It's fine, Alice. Jerian can be a little strange sometimes, I mean he acts like a normal human most of the time... but when we fight really powerful Demons, or he gets really angry... well, he gets this... otherness about him... an aura of... something not quite human." She shrugged, "Of course, it might just be that when he goes badass on the bad guys, it just makes him seem to cool to be human." She chuckled at that, "But still... I wonder sometimes. No one else seems to notice."

She glanced over at Alice, "But it's not something to worry about. I just wish Jerian knew who his parents were. I think it bothers him, and to tell you the truth, the idea his parents, or one of them, might be some kind of Demon or Angel or anything else... it scares me a little."

Alice listened to Kate and her worries as she continued to sit there. "It shouldn't scare you." She said quietly as she looked ahead of them still watching for any signs of movement the vampire in the back being oddly quiet. "If he isn't entirely human then it should all turn out well. He doesn't seem like someone to turn on his friends." She added as she thought it over having noticed how he was around Kate. "I think if he were to find out if he wasn't entirely human he may take it as it is and move on, but then again I am a dire-wolf and things don't really bother us. We live to long to really notice things for what they are." She said still thinking before yawning her ribs still hurting pretty bad which irritated her. To be hurt by a vampire was sad since she should have been able to easily dodge him. Knowing her skills were rusty she sighed and shrugged. "I just hope everything works out for you two.." She added suddenly becoming curious about something as she turned to Kate. "Is the order full of humans or half humans?" She asked looking at her afraid to hear the answer to that.

Kate smiled, "I think so too. Which is why I think that if he is some kind of half-human hybrid, it'll only end up making him stronger." At her question she said, "Mostly Humans, there actually aren't any half-humans, but there are a few supernatural creatures working with us, spirits mostly, but a few fae creatures here and there, even the odd minor Demon or Angel." She sighed slightly, "Of course the few Angels and Demons we have working with us are mostly weak ones, outcasts at that. They're 'consorting with the enemy' after all. I mean, The Society is neutral, but just because we don't pick sides we're basically the enemies of both Heaven and Hell and everyone else in between. Still, we've managed to survive for the past five thousand years, so we've at least got the grudging respect of our foes."

Alice nodded thinking it over quietly before she turned back to Kate. "Well would it be a problem if I ended up sticking around? "She asked cursorily. It wasn't like she wanted to, but her dire-wolf was more her then this human form she took and it was going to follow the tradition of the dire-wolves. "I mean if not that's fine, but I am a wolf given a human form and the way we dire-wolves work is that once we find a whole bunch of humans that are going to constantly be in trouble we have this weird sense to help protect them. I blame it on the vampires to tell you the truth. Humans can go against them, but very few can over power them and we were created to help balance that out." She said ranting as she stopped in embarrestment. "Sorry I haven't actually spoken to someone in a very long time." She said quietly.

Kete smiled, "Well, we never say not to a little help now and ten... we'd have to clear with Central Command though... but I'm sure Dawn can convince her father to let you stay." As Alice explained herself Kate gained a curious expression, "So Dire-Wolves were created to fight vamps huh? Well, as for not being able to overpower them... We aren't exactly normal humans. We have weapons, some pretty neat technology, to help us fight supernatural creatures and a lot of training too. We're not as helpless as you might think."

Alice nodded as she listened and smiled at Kate. "Thank you very much." She replied before listening to her question about Dire-wolves as she explained their technology and such. "I didn't mean you were helpless it's just the old old vampires usually don't like to come out, but when they do they are tough and that's why we were made so we could balance them. The ones that are younger are easy for you guys. I am just worried about this master your captive spoke of." She said quietly not meaning disrespect anyway she was just worried. Even though she did her best to keep from humans and others, she is the type who would put herself out there to help them no matter the cost, even if it was her life.

Kate nodded thoughtfully, "I see... well, then I'm glad you've offered to help us then. Anything to get a bit of an edge in the war."

There was a beep from on the dashboard and a section slid up, revealing a small screen. It flickered into life revealing an auburn-haired girl, in her late teens, with a dusting of freckles over her nose, "Arrow, status report." She said, in a crisp, professional tone, though her lilting Irish accent couldn't make it quite as stern as she'd obviously been hoping for.

The older blonde woman glanced to the screen, "Hotshot's gone scouting ahead, Ops, to clear the route of possible hostiles. I'm transporting a captured vampire, Alpha-level threat, and an injured Dire-Wolf that helped us capture him. I'm hoping to get her patched up back at The Hub, she's also offered her assistance should we need it."

"Good work Arrow." The girl said with an approving nod, "Any preliminary intel from the vampire?"

"Only that he's working for another vampire he refers to as 'Master' and that it was this 'Master' that enslaved the werewolves that attacked me, as well as presumably being in command of the other two vampires that attacked Jerian and myself." Kate said, "We assume this 'Master' is another vampire, one of much greater seniority and power than the captive, this is based on the fact that he managed to enslave a considerable number of werewolves to his will and he is able to exert what appears to be considerable influence on other vampires."

"Hmmm..." The girl said, her expression was one of deep thought, "Get back here ASAP, I'll get a holding cell prepared and notify Regional Command. I'll start a search on The Mainframe for known Elder Vampires, see if we can get some information from that."

Kate nodded, "Yes ma'am. What do I do if the vampire gets free?"

"Attempt recapture if possible." 'Ops' said crisply, "If not... well, don't take stupid risks. Ash him if you must."

"Acknowledged." Kate said with a predatory smile.

"Be careful with it, Arrow." 'Ops' said warningly, "Vampires are cunning creatures."

"Don't worry, Commander, we'll be fine. Jerian too." Kate said with a slight smirk.

The girl's eyes narrowed, "Hub out." She snapped, jabbing her finger onto a button off-screen. The small screen went blank and retracted back into its hidey-hole.

Alice nodded and then turned to the little screen thing and watched as a face appeared on it and watched the whole conversation quietly wondering if she should had involved herself more with humans. All this technology was starting to get confusing. Alice remembered visiting humans once and after then bad experience she never wanted to be involved with them again, but it seemed like she was once more. Sighing she shook her head. "All this technology is confusing." She stated lightly as she shifted still watching their surroundings quietly making sure no one had slipped by the male ahead or had attacked him. "How do you make vampires talk to you?" She asked curiously glancing to Kate wondering the humans way now. "I mean we have out personal ways that I have been taught, but it's bloody and its something done in private." She added.
