"Greetings, being of presumed intelligence.
You have been selected to assist me in teaching my construct of what it means to be alive. It is adept enough at logic, but I lack the means to adequately instruct it on things like emotion, morality, ambition, and the forces which drive these things. My construct shall accompany you and your fellows through the trials before you in order to learn of these things, but it is not permitted to assist beyond answering most of the questions you may have and providing you with sustenance if necessary.
In return for your participation, you will not only be released, but I will provide you each with a gift upon your completion of all trials. You have my gratitude, as well as my apologies if you were injured in being brought here. Please try to survive. It would be a pity if you all die and I have to find more subjects."
So read the letter you found upon waking in a room with several strangers - a letter signed by a wizard and alchemist known to be a mad man. If his reputation was any indication, horrors were sure to lie ahead. But what of this construct?
While my brain sits stuck on some 1-on-1's I have... I thought I'd go ahead and open up this thing that I actually have ideas for! It's been rolling around in my head for months. Yes, you can expect to see some inspiration-draws and blatant rip-offs of things from other growth-by-trial and through-the-maze type stories. What you see specifically may change according to what seems productive to the point. (Or maybe I'll actually try to plot it out before we begin, but I usually do best with a good amount of wiggle room.)
The actual purpose of this game is character development - especially if you feel like your character in under-developed. The trials will force your characters through things like painful memories and facing personal flaws to get through, and you are encouraged to use these things to improve upon your character's personality, habits, background, etc. Conflict and cooperation between characters are both encouraged. Please do not join if you are firmly against character death (but feel free to reach out to me if you have concerns about it).
I will be acting as a sort of GM to guide you through, but will interact with your characters using my character Alchemy (the construct from the letter). As you progress, it will be learning and may change in various ways. This will not be a fast-paced game, and the goal for everyone is weekly posts.
If you want to join, please indicate which of your characters you intend to use (it's okay if you mention a few you are still deciding between, but indicate someone) and what you hope to get out of this game. I will be choosing folks based on a mix of perceived compatibility, usefulness of story and characters to each other, and... well, probably some personal bias, and I apologize for that.

Magic is fairly common. Players and NPCs important to the tale may have it. Mistborn.
Iron age
Unrest may be part of the setting, but any scenes that happen to involve combat may be summarized.
Details: Freeform, adjustable length posts, one-off scene.
Ok, this is going to be like.... a super mega longshot, given a) this character's age and b) this character's disabilities...
Buuuutttt....
I have a character I'm super desperate to get some development on and well... development seems to be the driving theme of this suggestion. I'm hoping that it can help turning the character's personality from a bunch of adjectives to an actual behaviour.
So I'm going to go out on a limb and risk putting forth T'joa in their human form, 'Jo' (info on which is toward the bottom of the 'general' page on their profile). I'm willing to age them up to as high as 13 years of age if that increases my chances.

Just so you know,G is a character ive been going for with years, and ive come to grow on him,he has expansive knowledge of all types of magic and the multiverse,BUT i am willing to go for someone different if you accept magic wielders in training
GLiTCh/12a - The Glitch character sounds rather beyond what I'm aiming for. I'm looking for more "average level" sorts, not those who are super knowledgeable, powerful, and experienced. The 12a character has more potential in that aspect, but I'm still have concerns. The first one to address is that I find your writing style difficult to follow. You seem to be a little lax in how you handle punctuation and such. Is that something you would be willing to address for this RP? If so, I'd like to discuss more about the character via PM.
Riik - I'm actually less concerned by the characters age than it's presentation. It is an interesting character, certainly, but I'm not sure it's the sort that would have been selected for this. I'll keep it in mind, though. I might be able to figure something out, but that character's chances of making it in are low.

Fair enough, I knew it'd be a long shot. I mean I figured that with Jo missing some senses, their different way of perceiving the world could provide a different perception on the meaning of living... their original form would be more potent for that but the communication difficulties involved would be too much for an RP that might involve puzzle problem solving, hence my putting forth their human form. However as I don't know the trials and such that might be involved, as well as the mindset of the mad wizard, I'll concede to your judgement.
I would be happy to join this, however, I'm still wondering which characters to pick from - It's either Nebula or Rykel. And of course, I don't mind death in this particular RP, so could you still count me in despite not choosing between the two yet?

I can offer htis character up? I haven't used her in an rp yet htough and I think her profiles a bit bare bones atm
Well actually Nebula's profile is called 'Vega Asworr' So she's there, just missing backstory.
Edit: I did some profile changes but that's about it

I'd like this character for an rp.... I think he is a bit under developed and needs more work.
Given I haven't been able to give her development, this Goblin would be big for this.
The characters being offered up are starting to round out a bit. (As in I'm happy to see different sorts of personalities, including ones that may conflict nicely.)
I'm gonna leave this open for a bit longer, but I'll be closing it and selecting people soon.
Just for giggles, and since this seems like it would be a slow enough RP, I'll throw Magnus and Delacroix into the mix. Of course, they never die permanently, but they CAN die.
I've been unreliable in the past, so I understand if you are hesitant. Just know they're there.
EDIT: RIGHT! What I intend to get out of it... Well, they could both use some actual, proper development, so I can make sense of whatever history of theirs I can even remember. Plus, I can't remember the last time I did anything on this website, so it might get me to actually use it?

Gonna actually leave this open while I start grabbing more info and narrowing things down.
If you are still looking for more characters, I'm willing to offer up Ryia. I haven't really decided on a backstory for her, but I think she has plenty of room for development. It would be interesting to see her forced to confront some of her fears, or to be simultaneously knocked up and down a peg or three. If you wanted, I would be willing to explain the arcs I have in mind for her through PMs; I like to keep these things subtle, so I don't want to be openly sharing them, if I can avoid it.

Glad to hear it's still open!
