Do you ever wonder what happens to lost people or animals? Not things, thankfully; after all, we all know the left socks are stolen by trolls.
But what happens when a pet goes missing, or a man vanishes?
Well, it's simple, really. They end up Nowhere.
Nowhere has no beginning, or end. It is an expanse of beautiful land that ranges from gentle woods to rolling fields, with rivers, streams and lakes. All those who are lost find themselves in Nowhere.
In Nowhere, there are two constants:
One are the Beasts of Time. Terrifying creatures that can be large and destructive, or small and sly. If they manage to catch their victim and drag them away, the unfortunate soul is lost forever, forgotten even from the memory of those in the real world.
The second constant is a woman by the name of Rebb. She is the antithesis of the Beasts of Time; they attack and destroy, she protects and creates. It is her sworn duty to protect the occupants of Nowhere from the Beasts of Time, and she will do whatever it takes to achieve that goal.

Magic is fairly common. Players and NPCs important to the tale may have it. Mistborn.
Modern
Unrest may be part of the setting, but any scenes that happen to involve combat may be summarized.
