Hello Coccotina ^_^
Don't worry, I wouldn't care even if you were weird lol. Text-based forum RPG's in 2018 are a bit weird, some gamers would probably say. But opinions are opinions and I don't mind so let's all be weird together. :p

I have toyed with Neopets and Pokemon, and with Avatars, etc. etc. But never for very long. I was always more interested in action-movie-inspired original characters and fighter video-game-inspired original roleplays. I like being inventive, creative and imaginative. I have used the Roll20 app for android, and I have used dice-based text duel systems like T3 before, but I'm not a big fan of dice-based RPG'S or of games based on luck rather than knowledge, skill or strategy. I prefer turn-based textual combat and freestyle small-group RPG's which usually incorporate their own unique individual rule systems and character sheets.

Unfortunately, most of the sites I mentioned in my original post no longer exist. As network providers and internet services changed or disappeared throughout the years, so have many RPG sites. I can't tell you how many chats I've seen come and go. But as of right now, RPRepository, Chatzy, Roleplay Gateway, Avalon and Gaia Online are the only good places I know of where there are still a lot of active role-players on a daily basis. Most places offer pay-to-play or app services now. Not many gamers from my generation are still interested or involved in text-based RPG's.
