Henderson, a small town bleached by the arizona heat and sitting in a bowl made by the alchempine ridge that lifts the whole town. Some of the older folk say that god lifted us right off earth. We have 6 churches, one post office, and one movie theater. Funny 'bout that last one we haven't had a decent movie in years and any time we get an okay movie its been out on dvd for a month. Not to say henderson doesn't have it's perks but- dad always said I had a mind for the negative and I think he's right sometimes. See there's only two ways out of henderson; The one road out past the post office, or in a casket. My dad found one way out and it wasn't the latter- left when I was four-teen and a half, kid could remember the whole thing at that age, the fighting, the screamin', damn near hear the hate vibratin' in that house.
Anyway.
Henderson ain't bad really unless you ask the people I go to school with.
They say this place is full of secrets. Something we haven't quite figured out yet. See id like to say I don't believe em' but... Well I don't know people just look atcha' strange on the streets and the one park me and my friends would hang out at had a homicide! Never could believe someone in Henderson could kill. Well that's a lie we have your standered robbeies and kill in self defense like any other town. But this one was different. They said he looked like he'd been mauled by a wolf! One that's about 6 foot tall. I laughed at the very idea, my best friend Jamie says it's werewolves but I don't know what to believe anymore.
Anyway, welcome to the city sitting in gods hands 12,000 ft above sea level, population of 1,276, with more banned books than readable.

Description:
Short, curly, brown hair that's short on the sides but long on top, thin frame more of a "runners" body, pale blue eyes, pale skin, stick and poke tattoo on his left wrist of a smiley face.
............................................................
"-no!" I sit up straight in bed with sweat plastering hair to my face, I'm breathing hard but after a couple hard breaths I'm able to pull myself together, that's when the perpetual exhaustion washes over me. I pull my legs over the edge of the bed- the wooden floor boards creak as I push my weight onto them. After stretching I pull myself up from the mattress and check my watch that's sitting on my night stand, 6:14am, there's enough time for me to go running.
After pulling on some old tattered addidas shorts and a grey muscle shirt I pass my way through the empty house. My mom leaves for work at around 5 so I just missed her on her way out. I head out into the cold autumn air, the sun still fresh in the sky and begin jogging at a light pace down the side walk.

Description: Aurora is 5’5” tall with long vibrant red dyed hair. She has a long scar starting at her hair line and travelling down over her left eye, stopping just above her chin. She has pale skin, and her eyes are an amber/green colour. She has the word “ERROR” tattooed on her thigh in large, black letters.
................................................................
Aurora was laying in bed, having woken up before her alarm went off.
She could hear her mom getting ready for work downstairs, and she sighed quietly to herself. Eventually, she decided that she should get up.
She slid out of bed, stopping to stretch.
She decided to shower before school, blow drying and brushing out her hair. She hid upstairs until she heard her mom leave, and then grabbed her backpack and left. She walked down the street, slipping in her headphones.

I keep the light pace till I hit main street, I hear my dads voice "this boy thinks too much about that death stuff. He ain't right. He's like everyone else in this town." I feel my jaw tighten before I break into a full on sprint just blindly running in any direction.
I'm different then these people. I'm different then who he thinks I am.
I feel my eyes begin to water, so I wipe it away.
In front of me is the road out past the post office
"NOW LEAVING HENDERSON!
Come back!"
A sign says, rusted and work pock marks rusted through it.
Under it a wooden sign with nice white paint says "now leaving gods hands. Abandon all hope ye who shall enter here"
I grimace.
I'd crawl on my belly to get out of this town.
After jogging at a lighter pace home I run in quickly to take a shower.
I put on some stone washed slim fit jeans, a Led Zeppelin T, my military boots (from my dad), and my old tattered military jacket (also from my dad) then grab my backback from ontop of my dresser and head into the garage where my beat up 1994 ford is sitting; with its peeling red paint and dented front bumper. I own the garage door and pull put before heading to school.

After walking only about 10 minutes, Aurora arrived at Henderson High.
She stopped, staring at the school. She was early, as usual, with few people there yet.
After staring at th building for a couple moments, she sighed, and made her way up the path to the front doors. She walked into the school, making her way through the nearly empty halls.

The loud engin of my truck could damn near wake the whole town as I drive my way down Oak wood ave. The twisted and knotted wood of dried out trees with not enough water sticks out over the road like a rib cage.
Last weeks storm left some of the trees broken with some of the debris still in the road- once or twice I have to go around a log that is just too big for my truck to get over and make my way to the end of the street. In front of me the clean (fake) grass of Henderson high is vibrant and blinding just across the intersection from me. Covering most of the hill before the flat, brick building cuts out short. The front glass of the build, which covers the whole front minus the metal door in the center is the words "HENDERSON HIGHSCHOOL BAND" with a crude portrait of our mascot, the Hawk. To the left of the band building is the actual school. Three stories of stone, almost looking like a modern day castle, Henderson highscool is the oldest building in this town dating back to 1876 when it was town hall.
I turn down the side road labeled "student parking" I make my way down the paved road with 6ft high chain link fence on both sides with the baseball field on my right and the football field on my left and find an empty spot right next to the gym. I grab my bag out of the back seat before closing the door and heading to the court yard. "Good morning, Mr. Waric! How are you feeling?" Mrs. Hamilton asks as I pass her waiting infront of her class door, coffee mug in one hand and "how to kill a mockingbird" in the other.
"I'm doing just fine Mrs. Thank you" I say as I keep walking. After cutting between the gym and the green house for the agriculture class I cut the time it would usually take me to get to the court yard in half. The courtyard is one big square surrounded by everything the schhool has to offer. In the middle is a statue of our mascot on a pedestal with bushes at its feet. Two benches facing opposite directions are also at his feet facing away from him. Around the edges are more bushes and trees and past the statue are the main doors.
I find my friends. Eric, B'Anthony, and Henry sitting at one of the old metal lunch tables they have sitting outside for anyone who wants to sit down.
"hey man, what's up" Henry says, B'Anthony and Eric only nod since they are deep in a game of crazy 8's. I shrug "Ready to get today over with. Y'all wanna go see a movie later?"
Henry shakes his head "we've got a better idea. We're gonna go to Saderville"
Saderville is out past the post office and about 27 miles away. The next town over. It's got a starbucks, two movies theaters, a ton of restaurants and a mall.
"I'm down but you're paying for gas Henry. Last time you damn nea-"
"SHH. I told you I 'thought' it was down that way"
"and you got us lost."

Aurora navigated through the quickly filling halls to the courtyard, where with great luck she managed to find an empty table. She sat down, setting her bag on the tabletop in front of her. Her amber green eyes scanned the rest of the courtyard, seeing if her best and only friend had shown up yet.
Probably not. She thought to herself, as Alec normally skipped early on in the week. She sighed and ran her fingers through her vibrant hair, pulling a book out of her now open backpack.
It was the new copy of Macbeth that her mother had bought her as a birthday gift only a week before.

The first bell rings signaling for us to start heading to class-
Class 312, Algebra II
Mr. Garrison
Everyone begins stuffing their things back in their bags and shuffling to the door. B'Anthony grabs the cards and begins placing them back in the pack, "Saderville sounds fun Marcus, I know you don't like leaving town but it'll be cool to go out there and just chill"
He says.
"yeah. I guess." I readjust my bag on my shoulder and head inside. The cool air-conditioned air hits me and cools the accumulated sweat on my forehead, The main lobby of henderson high is build like a hexagon with the trophy case sitting at the farthest wall from the doors, and the main office being to the far right. In the middle is a couple chairs and a coffee table, hanging from the ceiling is two large flags with the colors brown and yellow, and a banner hangs over the trophy case "GO! HAWKS! GO!"
I walk through a set of glass doors and into the halls of henderson high. I turn down the mathematics wing and into classroom 312 before the second bell.

Aurora groaned a bit dramatically as she bell rang. She slid her book into her backpack and zipped it up, sliding it over her shoulders as she head for class.
Her first period class this week was Economics in room 227 with Ms. Reynolds. Aurora actually didn’t mind the class, most of her time table this year ended up being business courses, such as accounting and marketing. She sometimes thought about pursuing a career in the business field.
She made it into the class just as the second bell rang, and she took a seat near the front of the class.

The room smells of old books and marker, the sound of shuffling feet and students talking drown out Mr. Garrison trying to get them quite. Mr. Garrison is a very tall man with slender arms and legs but a booming deep voice, he's been going through the first stages of balding since I was in kindergarten and his glasses are thick rimmed and black.
I sit down in my seat close to the far back, I sit my bag down at me feet and slide in. Lesson one is about to begin.

Description: Lea is 5' 3". She has dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. Her hair is always pulled back. She wears a uniform that resembles a sailor scout uniform.
Lea had her usual routine. Shower, breakfast, feed the cat, bike her way to school. Also as usual, she went to her locker and grabbed her books and headed to class. Her first class of the day was economics, her favorite non-art-related class. She arrived to class and sat in the corner of the front row. Just then, Ms. Reynolds walked in with a smile on her face. Lea smiled back. "Good morning, Ms. Reynolds," Lea said.

Aurora smiled as Ms. Reynolds walked in, excited for class to begin.
Reynolds was a tall, thin women, with medium length brown hair that she often wore up. She had a pair of glasses perched on her head that nobody had ever seen her wear, but she was kind and sweet, trying her best to make classes exciting.
Ms. Reynolds started the class not long after she arrived, starting with the different types of economies.

Ms. Reynolds started the class not long after she arrived, starting with the different types of economies.
As Ms. Reynolds was going over the different types of economies, Lea took notes in her notebook. She also followed along with the textbook. However, this topic was starting to get confusing as there were too many types of economies. Luckily for her, Ms. Reynolds gave descriptions for each one. Lea continued to take notes when she noticed a classmate, just sitting there. She wasn't taking notes. Lea was curious as to why her classmate wasn't taking notes. However, she knew that it wasn't her place to ask. Just then, Ms. Reynolds asked, "Are there any questions so far?" Lea took a brief look at her notes, and then to the textbook. She shook her head. Her classmate, however, raised her hand.
