I'm trying to design a demon that embodies gluttony, but I'm bored of the classic demon look and I'd rather not go down the route most people go down when they think "gluttony".
Gluttony in this instance is impulsive over-consumption and excess of any kind, not just food. My character prefers feelings and experiences to materials and she isn't particularly selfish, she's just impulsive and lacks self control (which separates her from greed). She has an addictive personally and she prefers to indulge on whatever captivates her interest at any given time.
This character also plays on the idea that because gluttony can be boiled down to "excess of any kind" - it is capable of encompassing all other sins - which ultimately makes her a greater threat than one would usually expect from gluttony. Even so, the universe she is made for operates on the idea that both light and dark/chaos and order are two sides of the same coin. Both are necessary for balance, and neither one is "good or evil". She's not evil. She could fall anywhere along the "chaotic" alignment.
So besides humans, what plants and animals are there that embody gluttony in some way? What physical features do you think would suit her? I'm trying to design her physical appearance right now, but ideas of any kind are welcome!

Why not double down on the idea of Affluenza? Think the ridiculously rich kid who's never had to work for anything. Acquires and consumes everything but doesn't put any real value on it while having a massive social media presence just so everyone else know how much you have so they can want it too.
I immediately think of an overweight or bloated person, but I doubt you want that, hehe.
I imagine she'd have a laid back personality that would show through, so maybe slack clothing..?
I also think of a sloth, but that works better for one based on sloth or laziness.

You want a party animal who essentially denies himself nothing. Food, drink, video games, expensive shoes, drugs, parties, anything really fun or pleasurable in excess can work.
Mm... Caterpillars (and many, if not most larva) do pretty much nothing but eat.
Dolphins. They do whatever they want. Eat what they please. Beat other creatures for fun. Maim things like puffer fish just to get high off the toxins. They've been shown to be pretty rape-y, including of other animals. Dolphins are self-centered, self-indulgent assholes. The idea of them does not fit typical gluttony, though.
Some species of primates are also very self-indulgent, but I can't recall which offhand.
Maybe slaver ants, too.
For plants, basically anything carnivorous. Venus fly trap, sundew, pitcher plant... that giant flower that smells like rotten meat...
Depending how you make the character, just about anything parasitic could work. Bugs, plants, fungi... Some of the nicest plants out there are parasitic. Mistletoe, the plant people kiss under, is parasitic.

A being Made of fire, cause it consumes everything it touches.
Thanks for the responses.
Affluenza could affect her when she's unable to indulge in what she wants. She might fixate on something that's nearly unobtainable, but because she can't get her hands on it (like the high of love) she'll settle for less to keep herself alive. I could see her being incredibly bitter about it and taking out her frustrations on other people. That will help play into the idea of how she's capable of embodying the other sins too. Affluenza would ultimately lead her to wrath, envy, and greed.
I like the idea of her being laid back on an average day. Her need for excess is no different than our need for food and sleep. We only get weird about eating and sleeping when we're starving or sleep deprived, so I imagine she'd be the same way: Casual when she's "well fed", and totally loopy when she has been denied.
I hadn't considered parasites. Larvae might be interesting to base on the concept of Beelzebub. Insects, plants, and parasites will make for a much more demonic and abstract design than what I originally planned. (My first ideas were goats, dogs, and chimps but those animals are a little too cute, lol.)
Fire is suitable for a demon and could be used in a number of ways. My first thought is to treat her stomach like an incinerator, capable of breaking down and consuming just about anything. I like the idea of tying it to her mood and health like Hades from Hercules or Calcifer from Howl's Moving Castle.
