Daryn's eyes widened in surprise as he took in the various bits of equipment, cogs, gears, pipes, tubing, et al that Maya had pieced together. There was no way to disguise the awe in his voice. "How many years did it take you to build this?"

"I'm 19 years old now, so it took me around five years and a few months, maybe." She smiled at his amazement. "I assume you like it?"

Daryn nodded. "I'm impressed, really. I don't think half our engineers aboard the Nautilus ever made anything like this; they can cobble all sorts of things together when they need to, but otherwise they'd be hard pressed to match your skill."

Just then the radio cackled again. "Windcleaver this is the Nautilus, you're free to come aboard if you can. We're opening portside bay doors now."

Daryn peered out the window and noted movement on the airship. "Oh good, they're letting us come aboard. Unless you'd rather just drop me off at the nearest port...they can pick me up there. I don't think I ever caught who it was you worked for." He didn't know what Maya's skill with the aircraft was or if she had somewhere she needed to be in a hurry.

"Well... It's getting late, and this little ship - fast as it may be - isn't suitable to sleep in. I manage too, with my sleeping bag, but a warm cabin might be nice I suppose." she replied. "As to your second question, I work for no-one. When I hear of bandits roaming an area nearby, I try to take care of them." she smiled slightly."
