WARNING: This roleplay will contain strong elements of violence, gore, and likely death. If this makes you uncomfortable, this may not be right for you.
In present day, humans inhabit all of the earth with an artificial grip on land they do not own. They live unknowing of a whole other world-- located closer than they realize. Or perhaps they refuse to look any further, and they live unwilling to change their mundane life. Perhaps a life form that was any different from humans would be too much for them to comprehend. Nevertheless, they live on, remaining blissfully unaware of the war that rages on in the supernatural realm.
The supernatural realm, the notorious world filled with monsters and magic, has been cleverly hidden by an ancient and powerful witch's spell. For thousands of years the supernatural have lived in secret, right under the nose of the mundane world. Each species is divided into their own land to avoid conflict, though even this can't prevent wars that have been raging on since the dawn of time.
The war in question-- vampires and werewolves.
Because these monsters are forced to live in such close quarters, a temporary truce had been formed. While that didn't keep their hatred for one another at bay, it at least stopped the threat of exposure for some years. Until now.
A recent conflict over land has left the King of Vampires for dead, and the severe injury of dozens of werewolf soldiers. Both sides are equally in shock, devastated, and thirsting for revenge. Valerie, younger sister to her deceased King , is left to guide the vampires to end this terrible war once and for all.
But with victory comes a great risk. Will bloodshed bring the ultimate doom of the supernatural realm?

It seemed that even the Earth knew it was one of the most tragic days in history for the Vampire race.
The early evening began on a wide expanse of land, that of which consisting of graves that aligned perfectly in dozens of rows, and family tombs looming from the corners. The sky was grey, dulled and downcast, preparing to give way to the rain at any minute. At the outermost point, a mass gathering was taking place at the royal burial grounds. Vampires who had traveled all across the Supernatural Realm were to attend this event; it wasn't something to be missed. Before the crowd, an elaborate coffin of Gothic designs lowered into a large burial plot. A massive stone statue of a mother holding her child stood in the place of a headstone. Standing to address the crowd was their newly appointed ruler, Valerie Irephang.
Today, they would all have to watch as she put the King of Vampires underground.
The King was loved by his people and well respected by all, but Valerie knew him differently. Instead of a King, she saw Roman, her prideful older brother who she watched become a powerful leader over the many years he ruled. He was stubborn, egotistical at times, and far too blunt for his own good. But he was also invested in his people, always caring, and above all else, he was selfless. Valerie held on to every memory she ever had with Roman while they grew up together. He protected her from their father's wrath, suffering heartbreak, and many other dangers in the world. When their parents were gone, they found that they had to rely on each other to successfully lead their people. He died an honorable King, even if his pride was his demise. The Vampires had suffered a great loss.
Valerie, gazing out over the distressed and sob-ridden faces of her people, knew she had to keep calm in such a devastating time. As a leader, she had to be the one the Vampires look to in a crisis. It was time she accepted her responsibility. She took a single step forward, revealing her mournful expression, and spoke out. “We are all victims of circumstance,” she began, voice ringing clearly over the hushed murmurs and sniffles, “And so it is that we are here on the night of a new moon, to reunite a fallen member of our community with our ancestors. Roman was well-loved here, and I’m sure he will be well-loved in the next world, too.” Oh, if only she could believe in a world after this one; it would ease the crushing sense of finality that circled around her soul. “I have lost my brother,” she continued, “And I cling to every memory he has left me in the 500 years I’ve walked this Earth.
“But those memories are tainted now,” Valerie tasted something bitter when she uttered her next sentence, “Because every time I close my eyes and I think of my brother, all I can see is the night I found him dead. Understand me, people, your cries have been heard. So many have called me to action, and now I deliver." Something churned in her stomach, nausea overcoming her senses. "I will see to it that every man involved in the desecration of my family will be punished for the sins their kind has committed. I pray that you will assist me in this endeavor."
Valerie stepped back into the comfort of the shadows, allowing the people to say their goodbyes, where she was able to watch stone-faced as the mass let her words sink in. War was declared in the midst of their King's death. His funeral was turned to propaganda. And she was painfully aware of all of this. An inky blackness ate at her sides while the coffin hit the bottom of its tomb. Her memory of her brother was not now tainted by the image of his corpse, but of the image of war she left in his wake. If vengeance is not delivered, the blood of countless Vampires would be on her hands. In the mix of emotions, she felt a single tear roll down her cheek. She didn't move to wipe it away, but kept the inexpressive facade in front of her.

Proper funeral etiquette demanded that the Twins visit the family, offer their best memories of the King and attend the wake to provide sympathy on demand. They were after all, very close to the royal family. However, their true feelings were entirely different on the matter. Celene viewed the death as a tragedy. The lost of the Vampire King Roman was staggering for the people and especially for her beloved friend Valerie. She had done all she could to make his death easier to deal with, but she could only do so much for her best friend. The King had been her dear brother and it was understandably hard in dealing with the death of a sibling you had known for half a millennium-long. Now, she supposed, the best thing was to give her time and space, although it would be supervised. Celene knew Valerie wouldn’t do anything terribly drastic but it was definitely a priority to keep an eye on her. She wasn't stupid but a tidal wave of emotions and grief could make even the smartest of people do questionable things.
Meanwhile, Claudia was a different story. She'd always kept an appropriate distance, her feelings for King Ramon being a bit more…complicated. Claudia had always done everything in the name of her King. To say she had a giant infatuation was more so an understatement. Claudia had been hopelessly in love and in her lonely hours she had pondered a many of times, what it might have been like if he had turned his gaze on her. Now those thoughts were redundant, he was gone and yet her feelings remained. What she'd have given for just a century with him as her lover.
Equally, grief tore at their insides like matching tornados as they went through the slowly thinning crowd. Yet before Claudia could speak to Valerie, her tears fell thickly and her voice became stuck in her throat. It was up to Celene to speak for the both of them.
“Valerie,” She greeted her with a solemn smile, nudging Claudia to at least speak. Her twin only nodded and sniffled, saying nothing and yet saying everything with her silence.
"Your speech was wonderfully done," Celene added and took a breath to continue.
“We will lend you everything to help in your endeavors; Claudia, her sword and I, with my tactical and diplomatic advice. The Drake family will stand with you in whatever path you take,” She pledged and her voice rang strong and true.

Death watched the funeral from afar. When he had heard of the death of the Vampire King he came at once. He saw as Valerie gave a speech to the crowd. "So that's his sister." He didn't know Roman at all, he preferred to keep his distance, even in a world of supernatural he was somewhat of an outsider. He pulled his hood up as a gust wind blew by, he sighed and turned away. While the reaper wanted to do something to ease the pain of the now Queen, he couldn't. He only wished so because he knew what it was like losing someone that you love. He then turned back watching the crowd and feeling every emotion from them, mostly it was sadness but he could feel the vengeance in their hearts, they wanted those who caused this tragedy to pay. "Don't know why but I only feel more tradegies will follow this one."
Vremya had been out on a nightly stroll, just to let off a bit of energy before going to sleep for the night when she had encountered the funeral. She was interested and decided to take a closer look.
Huh, you really don't see this many vampires gathered in one place. She thought.
She pulled out a dagger and began making her way closer, her grey eyes watching the funeral-goers closely. As she approached she finally noticed the body of the Vampire King Ramon.
Oh, he must have been killed by werewolves. Quite a fitting end. She thought to herself, giggling slightly.
She made her way even closer and saw Valerie leading the procession.
"I wonder what they plan to do next? Maybe she would become the leader now that the king is dead?" she said quietly.

Approached by two familiar faces, Valerie straightened her posture to the fullest extent, and her expression softened in the presence of close friends. Watching Claudia struggle to speak through her sobs only tore her heart open more. It took no fool to see how deeply she was taken with King Roman. Valerie always saw them to be the perfect ruling couple. She could almost smile again as she reminisced on memories of her mischief; oftentimes with Celene's help, Valerie would find clever ways to push the King and Claudia closer together...even if it meant to enclose them in close quarters. That of which led to her fondest memory, where she had managed to lock the both of them in a storage closet, in hopes they would finally kindle a relationship. Alas, Valerie's brother was a marvelous leader, but clueless when it came to another's feelings. The thought made the corners of her lips twitch, but also her stomach churn with a violent vigor.
Valerie murmured a quiet "thank you" in response to Celene's comment of her speech. She had only reiterated it a hundred different ways, and rehearsed it a thousand times over in her head. While she may have given a countless number of speeches to the public over her centuries, she never truly got over the anxiety that lurked in the pit of her stomach. Pleasing the crowd was her motivation, but swaying them to side with her in her declaration of war was her goal. Valerie continued to nod in acceptance of the twins' condolences, a forlorn smile shown that she appreciated their words. Well, she supposed they were more of Celene's, but Valerie knew her friend spoke for them both. Now she knew for certain that her closest friends took side with her.
Suddenly, Valerie's hands shot out to grasp onto Celene's. Her grasp firmed around her friend's palms, just at verge of squeezing them. The gravely serious look she wore only reinforced the fact that signs of affection from Valerie were quite rare, and weren't to be taken lightly. Her gaze shifted between the twins, but nevertheless locked eyes, and Valerie sucked in a breath. "I don't have anyone with me anymore," she began, "My mother died, my father vanished...and now my brother is gone. You two are the only family I have left." She let that last sentence hang in the air for a brief moment. "Do you understand?" While onlookers and eavesdroppers may not quite understand the meaning behind her words, the look in Valerie's eyes said it all: Please don't die on me, too.
With that, Valerie released Celene from her grasp. She exhaled a shuddering breath before turning to scan the slowly-dispersing crowd. Most were noble families that stayed behind to bid their final farewells. Her eye did, however, catch on a mysterious cloaked figure. She couldn't justify to say that she had never seen them before, as she couldn't even get a decent look at their face. Though, because they kept their respectable distance, Valerie dismissed their presence.

Watching as the crowd began to disperse a skeletal hand moved the hood out of the reaper's skull face, revealing his red glowing eyes. He had gotten caught up in watching the funeral and had almost forgotten his reason for being here. The hooded figure began walking towards where the funeral had taken place, though it looked as if he was sliding across the ground since his cloak was so long. His scythe was currently hidden from view in his cloak, he didn't wish to seem as if he came with violent intentions.
Soon he moved from view, as if he were never there to begin with. Then in the next instance he was behind Valerie a ways. "First off I offer my condolences at the loss of your brother." One would be able to tell the sincerity in his voice, he was truly sorry. "Second do not allow his loss to drive you towards the path of hatred." He knew all too well what would happen if she went down this path, but he could not stop her if she truly wanted to, all he could do is try and talk her out of it. Saying what he came to say he began to leave slowly, he wanted to hear what she had to say if anything so he didn't want to leave immediately.

Meanwhile, at a small military camp for the werewolves, isolated from the rest of society, Henry sat in a tent, sharpening an axe. A typical night for him, when he heard something outside. A young dog, yapping. He recognized the barks, the barks of the werewolf who spied on the vampires. Henry got up, and walked to the center of the camp, where several other werewolf soldiers were gathered. The spy transformed back into his human form, getting up to address the crowd.
"The Vampire King is dead! The Vampire King is dead!"
The spy went on for a few more moments, but before he finished, the entire camp cheered in victory. The king, finally dead! At long last they could have their revenge! The vampires were weaker than ever! Henry joined along in the cheering, before turning into his wolven form and howling at the moon. Before long, the whole camp had joined him, in a loud, unified howling against a common foe.

Tork sat on a wood stump atop a hill that over looked his pack's military encampment, being quite a large beast, you could see him from the bottom of the hill, but Tork hadn't cared at all. The Lycan dug a sword like claw in between his teeth, picking out bits of meat, and rotted Vampire, 'gah they taste aweful...' but he had grinned to himself, letting out a hyena like chuckle. He wandered down the hill into the encampment, he knew that they were in enemy territory, however he hadn't known how deep they were in. That's when the dog entered the camp, Tork snarled, and turned his back to the rest of his kind, as they all howled to the Great Moon, Tork let out a gut wrenching roar. But it was not a roar of victory, no it was that of anger. Tork yelled out to his people, "Brothers and sisters, we should not yell to our enemy's as we boast in their loss." turning his neck over his shoulder to spit out bits of chewed up bone and flesh. He grabbed a skull from the ground, "The Blood Leechers will not be weak for long, gather the clans... We need to strike soon!" Tork brought upon a call to arms, he wanted the Leechers to die, all of them, he wanted them all to burn. Not all the Lycan supported him, but he hadn't cared, he would go with or without the support of his Pack.
The Twins equally stilled at Valerie's words, moved and touched by her meaning. It was odd for them both to see her like this, someone who was always so composed and who rarely made a big show out of her emotions, to be open at this moment made their hearts squeeze. It nearly stole their breaths away and only hardened the resolve and faith they had placed in Valerie. It wasn't fair that it had to be this way. Valerie shouldn't have to be alone and nearly pleaded with them to not die and truly leave her to eternity by her lonesome.
It was clear to them both that grief was such a terrible emotion.
"We understand," The Twins managed to reply in unison and Celene gave a firm squeeze of her hands as a subtle sign of support. They weren't going anywhere as long as they could help it. Meanwhile, Celene hoped that they would never have to see that stalling look in Valerie's eyes ever again. Her brown eyes had lacked...something in that moment and it had twisted her heart in a painful way. There was something to be said but all too soon Valerie released her hold and the thought died on her lips.
Perhaps it was for another time but not right now.
Regardless, the Twin's stood vigil by Valerie's side, too touched to leave her now. Claudia had eventually, contained her tears and returned her composure. Now, did she look every bit of the hardened soldier, her back straight and her hands at her side while her sheathed sword was attached at her hip. She would cherish the sword more than anything in the world, her only gift from her beloved King Roman. It would come in good use in tearing through the creatures who had done this, Claudia would make sure of it.
Careful eyes watched as the hooded figure approached and an pair of eyebrows were raised as the now revealed face of Death, offered condolences. It was...odd to say the least but touching? Maybe?

"It seems that they just want to stay alive." Vremya chuckled.
"So naive, so foolish."
She hid her dagger into the sleeve of her dress and pulled out a small candy bar and took a bite as she continued walking around the graveyard.
Would they go so far as to drain me? That's an interesting thought. The situation is in my favor right now. Best that I don't test their limits.
