Im entirely new to rp (outside of a tabletop setting atleast) and was told by a friend to attempt some other types of rp. As my handle suggests im entirely out of my depth and am looking for some help getting into something new.... Like i actually have no idea what im doing or where to start so please help.

Hello there nice to meet you, I suggest you start making a character using the tutorial, after that just think in what kind of settings would you like your character to be, I suggest you use the tool "looking for RP" so you can find the settings that you want.

Most of the time, text-based roleplay called freeform takes place here. The players might form a solid plot before playing, or they might just wing it! Or somewhere in between. Whichever happens, you are essentially creating a story with someone.
There is also more structured play that takes place here, as well as some roleplay that only uses dice. To get started, here are some links that will help!
