I'm looking for a sci-fi RP for my newest character, Tara Ilendi.

Tara is an anthropomorphic feline whose species are 'ageless', or in other words, they are biologically immortal. At one thousand years of age, Tara is a Professor of Xenoanthropology and History at the Royal Institute of Knowledge on the homeworld of her species, Aerin. She isn't exactly a 'pure' sci-fi character since her civilisation relies on very advanced 'Magitechnology', but due to the vast array of characters and settings a sci-fi RP can incorporate I don't think that'll be a problem, since people could simply attribute this to her species being 'sufficiently advanced aliens'.

Tara spends a great deal of her time travelling the galaxy in her ship looking for new and interesting cultures to study, and whilst she's not much of a fighter this has landed her in hot water on occasion. Despite her great age Tara still has a sense of naivety about her and she can sometimes be too trusting, that said the years have given her a great deal of experience and she has a near-encyclopedic knowledge of the languages and customs of many races, she much prefers talking to fighting and she tries wherever possible to use diplomacy to defuse situations.

Although I currently cannot really engage in a new role play, I must say I find this character quite interesting and also see a possibility with her, so, I would say, don't give up on her, as sometimes players do and then just delete the unfortunate character's profile. Although, it is clear you've put a lot of work in her and wouldn't do that, but I still want to say she's really interesting and I am sure she will find just the right people to interact with!

Thanks! I tend to put a lot of effort into my characters to try and make them as unique and interesting as possible, it's too bad you can't RP with her, but don't worry,I'm not about to give up on miss Ilendi any time soon!

Maybe I could role play when my school break starts, if you can put up with the fact that after it ends, I will be slow with replying, and, of course, if any of my characters catch your interest.

I'm a patient guy, besides my replies will probably slow down when I go back to University anyway, so as long as you can bear with me on that then I see no problem. I'll take a look at your characters now and see if any of them would fit with her.

So, we both would be slow with replies, that's okay with me. Let me know if someone catches your eye or spurs some idea, I think some of them could work out. ^^

All of your characters seem interesting, but I'm not sure which one would be best with Tara, any suggestions?

Given the certain goal of Tara, such as learning about the world and culture, I could see Gentiana and Loren involved with her. They both are with similar interests to hers, in a way, and especially Gentiana, if played in her regular setting, could go out of her way to take Tara 'under her wing', since it could be rather dangerous for someone of Tara's appearance to be all alone there.

I quite like that idea. Tara might be a thousand years old and a Terelain, which means she's got all the added advantages of feline agility, heightened senses, claws, fangs and whatnot and a little magic, but she's not a fighter and she's often oblivious to danger until it's too late, especially if someone trying to trick her or is going to attack her or something.

She'd definitely need someone looking out for her if she's somewhere really dangerous.

Loren, too, would be helpful and somewhat protective, but if we compare him and Gentiana, she makes a better companion, for example she can provide good transportation - her motorbike.
If you want, I can PM you some information on the setting later. Or would you like it to be revealed trough the role play?

i think maybe if you give me some basic info on the setting, and then reveal the rest through RP would be good. I can do any sort of RP, but I prefer open forum because then sometimes other people join in and it makes the whole thing much richer and complex, plus multiple characters help keep the plot going.

Ah, you thought about public, group role play? If we both don't reply very often, it could be a bit uncomfortable for others, making them wait, but we could try. I haven't done it in a while, but it could be interesting.

I can do either, as long as it's comfortable for you. We could kick it off in private, either on forum or private messages, and when we both have more time and reach certain point, like they start to travel together, we make thread for group role plays, to enrich it.

That's a good idea. I think PM RP would be better, since I find it much easier to keep up with than forum RPing if I' pressed for time.
