i feel like i personally end up writing a lot of myself into my characters, usually on complete accident. i'm sure this has been done before but i guess i'm just going to drag myself here and talk about the weird things i have in common with my characters

amelia:
-i have a younger sibling i'm really close to and most of our conversations are me breaking down the door to her room and being like you've been playing frank sinatra for five hours please change the channel and she's like get out or i'll kill you
-honestly i've had her since i was 12 and she was very self insert-y at the time
-virgos
-good aim? ??

avery:
-the way we talk is similar
-i tell people my ideas for photography/show them my photographs, which are usually pretty creepy and gory, and they're like "haha wow,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, how are things"
-Depression™
-pretty dark sense of humor
-i'm really scared of driving? not for the same reasons at all but
-i see people as corpses
-i'm joking on that last one

-won't say anything when i first meet you but after you get to know me for awhile i'm a snarky loser

elliot:

-i get really emotional over cats
-i love the piano and the violin (can't play them though)

Elyssa: wants to go on adventures and learn.

Lindal:my desire to just...mess with everyone

Lux: depressed and trapped. I take Medication for depression and feel trapped in my surroundings.

Nico: seems innocent but isnt. People think I dont know what BDSM is. Lol, I know what it is.

They also are surprised when I swear like a sailor.

Hex: Id totally wear a cloak every day. Hex is my inner geek.

Hmmm thats all lol.

This made me realize I have very little in common with my OCs here lmao

- everything reminds me of a story

- Alistair: tired and limping
- Jeptha: interested in the occult, gives people the creeps

Gabriel
- I could not be any less like this man
- we're both from Canada
- trying to befriend all stray cats

Lol I think most of my OC's have a few things in common with me...

Adan Cordel:
-Very anti-judgemental...hates people who label others.
-Determined.
-Doesn't let his past define him.

Spencer Caine:
-Really wants to be famous.
-Despises the thought of living forever.
-Hates the feeling of being watched.
Damian Caine:
-Has serious attitude issues.
-Slight separation anxiety.
-Does what he thinks is right even if others disapprove.

Ceshokiesh:
-Perpetually silly.
-Acts much younger than his age.
-Is a sweet food addict.
-Likes to wear collars.

Eldest Timor:
-Slight social anxiety.
-Mentally and physically scarred.
-Has seen much more death than he cares to admit.
-Keeps to himself.

Flicka Mooney:
-Likes to stand out.
-Loves all animals but prefers the ones that creep people out over most others.

-Is lazy to the extent of sitting on a skateboard and riding it around to avoid walking. Secretly though he is only conserving his energy.

-Always has to know what's going on.
-Stays attuned to her surroundings.

-Playful.
-Brags about being weird.
-Argues with friends over who is more weird.
-Loves to have fun.
-Can't deal with stress.
-Fear of being rejected.

The Angelmaker:
-Can be extremely emotional.
-Literally sleeps in the closet.
-Has this odd sense of comfort when walking through a cemetery.
-Night owl.
-Loves the dark.
-Not to be taken lightly when angered.
-Likes pain.

Unima Xan'kai:
-Likes sharp things.
-Enjoys swordsmanship.
-Good at getting away unnoticed.
-Can be highly persuasive.
-Stands for the underdog in a fight.
-Tries to help others in a subtle manner and prefers not to get physical.
-Always has an ace up her sleeve.
-Always one up on rivals.

Jackie
-PUNS though I don't think she makes too many when I play her
-Afraid of dogs, though she lacks a real reason
-Lazy
-Originated as an author avatar I made when I was a teen. She's changed alot since then.

- Logical. I am too a logical person.
- insensitive. I suck at offering sympathy and I accidentally say hurtful things sometimes.
Amberlyn.
- Talkative/Awkward like Abigail.
- Quirky. I am a little.
- Goofy. I am a weirdo at times.
- Sugar gliders. Love them!
Blaire.
- Well, uh...Yeah.
Chelsea.
- We're both Catholics and conservatives.
- I can be a little sassy.
- playfully proud. We pretend we think we're great but we don't really...That much.

- Shy. Well I'm shy at first but still extraverted so.

-Can play dirty.
-Can use everything as a weapon.

-Can have the mentality of a child.

-Has a will with the strength to go through anything.
-His earlier version were a lot more awkward than the current version.
-Is a nice person.

As I said, I pour myself into my characters.

I don't put a whole lot of myself into characters apparently, heh. Just a few tid bits here and there.

honestly i come up with characters by taking a part of myself, making it opposite, and creating a whole person around it, so

- having a closed loop in regards to information and things is Nice
- mr. steal your pet's love from you
- things mustn't change unless they are made to change
- i've been still for too long, i must Do Something
- weird sense of self
- yelling literally only makes the anger mount

cassius
- let's say the wrong thing in this situation
- "hey anybody got any ____?" "yeah hang on it's somewhere on me"
- dry sarcasm
- letting people in to the inner self is Weird
- nihilism but it's calm
- instruments!
- weird opinions and preferences on p much ancillary things

minerva
- why wear actual clothes when you can wear the shirt that you've been wearing to sleep
- the mom friend
- let's all just take a spa day and relax, deadlines aren't important and the world is dying and your money is going to be spent wastefully no matter what you do with it
- swings wildly between professional and personable
- that 11pm Need to Clean™ feeling
- is the type of person to own a kanken but never use it
- 50 billion soft blankets everywhere at all times

- never make a decision based on rational thought

- homeless people need your money more than you do, for jeez's sake
- alcohol is to taste nice, not to get u drunk

- doesn't pay much mind to the cleanliness of his surroundings but it's darn nice when they are clean

gwyn
- going places is not fun
- what do you mean "i have responsibilities"
- lying to yourself is fun
- really close with siblings
- talking and making thoughts into words is difficult
- some days you just. you just gotta go in the woods

spencer

-if something unexplained happens i pretty much always immediately jump to the paranormal conclusion before anything else. like, if something moves on its own i'm thinking GHOST before anything else.

-good luck getting me out of bed before noon.

-weirdly philosophical
-if i'm feeling bad i tend to go on self-loathing internal monologues

-Usually on the verge of breakdown when left with own thoughts

-Weird sounding laugh that catches people off guard if they only hear your normal, stoic speaking voice

-Don't make enemies if you can help it
-Self-sufficiency is a must

-Importance on adherence to self defined principles
-Dutiful
-Doesn't ask too many questions when he doesn't want to think about the answer

Xume
-Wonders if worldview is making me miserable
-Try to help others so you don't have to focus on your own shortcomings

-Bawdy sense of humor

-Not cutting my hair, no sir.

Welp, we'll just keep it to the kids I have on this site. But just know. All of my characters share this trait with me: we are full of bad choices.

Duran:
- likes to hide his face
- deceptively well-balanced, still bumbles around like an idiot
- real good at putting his foot in his mouth
- uncomfortable around most people
- loves the mountains, cities worry him, and is scared of the big wide empty of the plains

Enri:
- internal screaming. all day, erryday
- smart enough get himself out of trouble, dumb enough to be in trouble aaaaalll the time
- has, like, three best friends and a million acquaintances that he's not sure how they feel about him
- self-doubt and esteem issues
- doesn't know how to function without some level of chaos in his life

Raed:
- plays dumb and keeps her head down to avoid being put in positions of responsibility
- commitment issues
- RAEG
- stubborn
- lore-keeper; remembers in extreme detail the things she is interested in
- empath; picks up on emotions well... sometimes too well

Rick:
- trust issues
- humor to deflect from unpleasant feelings
- bouncy and excitable about his special interests, even more excited about his friends' special interests
- loves Pokemon
- loves games in general, always down for some friendly competition
- loves to travel and explore

Tom:
- prone to staring
- needs a hug
- likes to climb
- contrary
- made of spite and loneliness
- dissociates

Asher - is awkward as all hell like 90% of the time but has moments where they can be smooth af (mostly when drunk)
