I'm currently in the process of not only doing heavy editing to my novel I hope to get published by May, but also making the front and back covers myself... It sucks! It's beyond stressful, and as much as I used to be excited about my book it's harder and harder to be excited when I need to spend hours everyday dismantling and rewriting. I have been struggling hardcore with being motivated to edit, but I am doing my best.

Having to dismantle, and break apart, every part of my book is draining emotionally, but, as I am rewriting I get these moments where I smile or laugh or nod my head because I can see that what I am writing is better than how it originally was; so, it's already worth it.

Making the cover is a bit stressful, espeically the back cover, as I am unsure about that. I've been looking up a lot of things on how to make back covers but nothing is espeically helpful.

I don't really want advice or anything, just venting and sharing what's going on in my life with y'all. Though your experience in your own novel would of course be welcome.

I have decided to give all my editing and such a break until Monday or Tuesday, and not stress over the Holiday weekend.

Are you trying to write a title and a 4th cover or are you doing a visual work, finding/creating a cover?

Wow, just wow. I made many attempts at writing throughout the years but always deleted everything in the end. And seeing someone who has enough willpower and perseverance to see it through is... amazing, to say the least. I hope you'll get it ready by your appointed time and get it published.

Kudos to you for putting in the effort to make your own covers! I've attempted a couple of times, but I just don't have the eye for design, and I definitely don't have an eye for good typography. Either way, my addiction is buying premade book covers, none of which I've actually used just yet for any of my books. That should tell me something, right?

I already have a title, I'm making a cover via Canva, paying for the rights to stock photos and such. The biggest issue is just the font and placement of it honestly right now.

Thanks so much! I've been writing novels and such for years but only got the kick in the butt to actually write one and publish recently. It's a lot of work, and sometimes I'm terrified of disappointing people.

I honestly wouldn't if I had the money! I've looked into premade covers and just couldn't find one that had the combo of images I needed. Right now the font for the text and placement is the hardest and it's irriating lmao.
