Dear friend, I have a riddle.

Say you have a rabbit, a fox, and a head of lettuce on a river bank, and you need to get them across the river.

you have a boat, BUT you can only take one of them on the boat at a time. If you leave the fox and the rabbit alone together, the fox will eat the rabbit. If you leave the rabbit and the lettuce alone together, the rabbit will eat the lettuce.

How do you get all three of them safely across the river?
