It started off as a normal lazy day for [YC]. A casual day-off work, or anything specific to do really. [YC] visited the starbucks local in the town for a simple drink of coffee, or something. Out of completely nowhere, the comfortable atmosphere was broken by the shattering sounds of gunshots on the streets, startling everyone inside the coffee shop.
In the following second, a black hooded figure barged inside the coffee place, their face completely hidden by shadows. Apart from the screaming baby at one of the green booths, the entire shop fell into dead silence. The mother, seemed like a breathing corpse, too terrified to move a limb in an effort to comfort her own child.
The black hooded figure pulled out a gun, with their invisible eyes scanning the terrified faces. Their eyes landed on [YC]. The hooded person rushed forward, grabbing [YC] by the wrist, and forcefully yanked them out into the streets. The same peaceful streets from earlier, that was now twisted into complete chaos.
The hooded figure rushed [YC] into the cold, filthy alleyway by the coffee shop, behind large dumpsters that acted like barriers from the massacre unfolding on the streets. A gunshot, instantly followed by another, blurred out by blood-freezing screams of innocents.
The hooded person yanked their hood off, revealing long, flowing blood red hair and blue eyes lighter than glass.
“What were you thinking? You are so lucky I saved you! ” The red haired girl hissed, starring into the distance of the shooting.

For this RP I am planning on using my character Karma Harmony.
This plot will have plentyyyy of combat, drama and action. Romance is a possibility too, but I'd prefer for it not to dominate the plot, and for the characters to have some time to get to know each other.
Karma is a demonhunter, so your character can be supernatural, but it isn't necessary.

Magic is rare, but not unheard of. Mundane characters may or may not believe in it. Magical characters may form small and exclusive pockets for study, protection, etc.
Modern
More combat than not. The setting may be at war, and the characters will likely get involved whether or not they seek it out.
