Double checked, and you do have the permission. I'm not entirely sure how it might work for you, though. I have to go into edit mode to access the version of the member list that lets me fuss with permissions, but only a handful of people have edit permissions. Everyone has member management permissions, though.

I don't know about management permissions. I don't know how those work. It think those perms mostly apply to like, forum stuff. I know I can invite new members, but I too am having a time finding where to approve members and I've looked everywhere.

Approval isn't going to be an issue. The group automatically accepts all applicants. It's the granting of membership management permission that's the issue. The ability to use the treasury is tied to that.

The Armory was set up as a very round-about way of dealing with item sharing. The only thing that makes it different from other groups is that Kim made a special adjustment to keep me from drowning in notifications from it. Aside from that... it's using a tool for something it was not intended for. Better a wrench for a hammer than trying to use a loaf of bread, though!

How do I gain permission to acquire things from the armory?

You have to wait for someone to accept it. I would but, haven't been able to find a way for members to approve membership even though Nova said there's a way or we should have perms for that
