Hey Guys,

Just a quick " poll", do you guys have (a) recurrent nightmare(s)?

Forgot how you do plural in english mg. XD *tired. very tired.*
Fancie

I mostly have them after a loved one dies. Or I eat sugar before bed.

(( well, never heard sugar have an effect on nightmares.))
Anyone else?.

Not recurring ones, and I can't really pinpoint the reasons behind them. Otherwise - yeah, they happen from time to time.
I dream so little it's just: Go to sleep at 01:00->Complete black out, nothing but sleeping->Wakes up fully rested.
Oh man, do I have dreams!
I have had times where I recognize where a dream/nightmare is going and I'm like "wait a second, I've done this before!" It's weird because it's almost an exact repeat, up to the point where I realize that I've gone through this and so I start to change my actions.
I have also had dreams taking place in the same areas. Not just areas I've been to in my life, but areas that I've been in during a dream before.

Dreams are weird. XD
Not really, unless you count common themes that emerge once every few years.
My dreams have a lot of recurring settings that don't exist in real life, like @CelestinaGrey. Either that or it's a sort of deja vu or jamais vu effect I experience in dreams.
A recurring theme in my bad dreams is the gradual death/mental and physical decline of a parent, for some reason specifically my father. Happens a couple of times a year, and other than that, I don't really have nightmares.
I almost never have nightmares but I had a nightmare tonight! I wonder if this thread has something to do with it, lol. In my dream, my mother had decided to have spiders as pets, including a huge puppy-sized one, but she didn’t have a secure enclosure for them so they kept wandering about the house. Curiously, while I’m afraid of spiders in real life, it didn’t bother me much.
A few nights ago I dreamt my dad had bought a ton of hamsters, but they didn't have enough room in their cage. I cried at the injustice of it, lectured him (while sobbing) about how hamsters need space or they'll kill each other, and found more cages. I don't consider that to be a nightmare because I didn't feel afraid, but I did feel a little bit sad, and even more weirded out at how squishy the hamsters felt when I picked them up.

Well. I had a weird gloom nightmare myself this night.

I propose we pick this thread to talk about our nightmares.

I was about to tell about it, but I wanted to make an "official" annoucement, since this thread wasn't really oriented this way at the very beginning.

Gosh.

If you had gloomy nightmare, you're free to share, try to make it concise, as for nightmares, it can become pretty long, and if it's isn't written quite nice, it can become difficult to read about it, please.

Thanks for your in-put!

This one is good to hear! XD, actually I found it quite funny! XD ))

Uh anyway. ! :p
I might have when I was younger. I remember a nightmare about a bug that grew giant, and being trapped on a platform with it in a huge vertical tube. Unfortunately, I lied a lot as a little kid (until I had my own "crying wolf" experience) and know that I started embellishing things about that nightmare. Due to the nature of memory, I can't really remember anymore what actually happened.

I was also told that I had night terrors when I was little. (For anyone not familiar, a night terror is an extreme nightmare, involving things like actual kicking and screaming while asleep.)

Other than that, the only notable thing about my dreams is that they usually have plots. Mm, and I experienced hypnagogia (the state between being asleep and awake, when your body goes paralyzed and you start dreaming on top of reality) at least once. My experience with it was unusually peaceful and pleasant. I informed the voice that it wasn't real, but I can't remember anything else "we" talked about.

Mine do have plots too, even if they are unrealistics. I might talk about the one I had yesterday. I rmember it partially, but it wasn't good.

Well, as are what we could call nightmares, most of time, anyway.

I would like to call nightmare something that leaves a badimpression, either way, or it's rather just a dream with scary elements, without really being scary...
I guess we should know if it's a nightmare or not.

Welp, actually I don't remember I dreamt yesterday, but I do remember quite clearly the before-yesterday nightmare.

We were in a kind of campus/old-school campus/batiments, and they were some infected beast everywhere, they could take the human apperance or something, it was quite terrific. I didn't face one, but if you make ruckus or a noise, they would come run-in and you where done. The terrible part was the part where you couldn't count on anybody, even those who were suppose to be on your team. Erck.

Had a glimpse of my yesterday nightmare but it vanished.

Sigh.
I keep having nightmares of the same thing I've called. My life.
;-; (Crying on the inside)

Well. Nightmares wouldn't be about anything else, wouldn't they.
