Hello hello.
I've been wondering if it might be worthwhile to make some sort of hobbyist or crafter's guild-type-thing using RPR's group function. Like, a hub where people can share their projects, tutorials, tips, whatever. It could include "hands-on" hobbies (ex: woodwork, knitting, soap-making) but also traditionally artistic ones (painting, photography, etc).
Mostly started thinking about this because I'm in the hobby of collecting bones and insects and there's not a lot of robust online communities for those lmao. So maybe this is just a me problem. Anyways.
I noticed that there are some craft-oriented groups but am unsure how active they are. I also don't know if a group like this would be redundant with there already being an Art & Creativity board.
Thoughts?

If you're afraid of the lack of people getting into the group, I can't really give you advice, maybe could you try to join first a created one, and see how much active they are from the inside, and if anybody is still administrating them?

It wouldn't be redundant at all - however, there's already a large, fairly active group for art related things here on RPR, so it might be worth dropping by there first?

You can still always open the group you want, since there isn't one that actually exist in the specific hobby you like?
And get a look in the others, just because it's wont waste your bread.
Jst go ahead and create the one you like, and search a bit for your specific hobby!
