Captain Kiran and his flight docked on the Plutonian outpost. An hour later, he submitted his incident report.
Star date 2369.48 Incident report: Unidentified spacecraft
Unidentified spacecrafts were spotted entering Senga Empire space. Firefight averted, intentions as yet unclear. Possibly a simple engine failure but the coincidence with the Emperor contacting foreign lifeforms is... troubling. Reccommended procedure: mobilise reserve forces and remain on patrol for the next week.
Lieutenant-colonel Wei Jie, commanding officer of the 1st Plutonian Battlalion, read the Captain's report with a mixture of interest and concern. Picking up the phone, he contacted his superior, Major-General Han Seng- also known as MG Tee Kee (iron teeth in hokkien) for his renowned ferocity and determination which kept the Plutonian Corps in top condition despite their distance from the main force- who was the Planetary Commander of the Plutonian Corps.
MG Han Seng was, understandably, disgruntled by the news. He'd campaigned against numerous political prisoner insurgencies and was a true war veteran but alien life meant alien tactics in both senses of the word. Could this be a feint? He asked himself. This was the first time unidentified spacecraft had entered Sengan Space and his experience afforded him little counsel in the matter.
The next day, the order went out to all military staff members, reservists and regulars alike. Support staff and frontline soldiers were all activated and instructed to report to their respective camps within the next 48 hours. Soldiers part of the main force on Mars would be allowed to book out every alternative day and would be demobilised within a month to prevent an economy crash, but the Plutonian Corps would be on standby until the order to stand down was given.

"Baris, sedia!" Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) Syahmi's voice rang out across the parade square as the battalion began their morning parade. Pace stick in hand, he reflected on the seriousness of the situation with contacted aliens. The usual drills for in-camp training usually weren't this strict. Parade commands tended to be strictly for conscripts and those on actice duty. However, the alarm had been raised and the men needed to go through their combat drills. Parade drills would be limited to opening and closing parade.
"Baris, kekanan lurus!" he gave the order to spread out by one arm spacing
"One-check-one!" the timer's timing was followed by the sharp bang of hundreds of combat boots in near-perfect synchronisation. CWO Syahmi had been blessed with a battalion that was very on the ball.
"Pandang kedepan, pandang!" the order to look in front was made.
"Baris, hormat commanding officer, hormat!" he gave the order to salute the commanding officer, Lieutenant-colonel (LTC) Wei Jie.
"Check-up!"
"Baris, sedia!"
"Check-down!"
Satisfied, CWO Syahmi marched up to LTC Wei Jie and reported the battalion strength.
"Good morning sir!" he greeted.
"Good morning, encik!" LTC returned the greeting using the honorific for warrant officers when addressed by officers.
"1st Plutonian Armoured Regiment reporting in for combat duty. Total strength: 3000. Current strength: 2969. We have 31 men currently on medical leave."
"Understood. Carry on with the routine order."
CWO Syahmi saluted LTC Wei Jie who returned the salute. Syahmi then turned and marched back to his position in the parade.
"Baris, keluar baris!"
"One-check-one-check-up-check-down-check left, right left, Armour!" the parade ended as the men shouted their vocation, the Armoured unit.
Thereafter, the battalion was split into their individual platoons and went through with combat drills. The Armour soldiers, both Armoured Infantry and Tank Crew, all had to draw arms first. Most drew the Senga Army Rifle model 30 (SAR30) as their personal arms. Others had to withdraw the light machine gun known as the Ultimax 3000 (U3K), the M500 Grenade Launcher and the SPIKE 60 anti-tank rocket launcher as the section heavy arms.
Afterwards, the men were sent to their individual company vehicle sheds to engage in live firing exercises.
...
The Plutonian Corps were all being mobilised, from the Infantry, Guards and Commando units to Combat Engineers, Field Medics and Transport. The Army units all participated in ship boarding and dismounting exercises twice a day, once before and once after their vocational training. Some men were enthusiastic and pleased to get away from the rat race. Others were concerned about their jobs and families. Others still just wanted to get out of camp and training. Ultimately, every soldier did their part to contribute to Senga's first line of defence against interstellar threat.
As the men went through training, they started singing their traditional army songs.

So echo... echo out loud

As soon as an armed host was detected in deep space, the alarm was sounded signalling all active military staff members to draw arms and prepare for invasion. Within an hour, the entire Plutonian Corps of 2.5 billion soldiers were armed and ready for combat. The Spacewolves were dispatched on patrol, accompanied by the Fighter-class ships. The majority of the forces were, however, stationed on Pluto itself. Ground control was armed for anti-space warfare, with 3 massive anti-spacecraft railguns stationed at every camp on the planet. The satellites that provided a localised and system-wide network also had a secondary purpose. They could form a semi-permeable energy barrier around Pluto, a concoction drawn up by defence scientists decades ago and finally put in place in the last 3 years for all occupied planets. They allowed projectiles to exit but not enter the planet's atmosphere for a fully independent biosystem.
The Plutonian Corps had set up their defence force in the event of a barrier breach. Aircraft patrolled the skies as tanks and Armoured Fighting Vehicles scoured the land. All were prepared for the incoming invasion.
Meanwhile, the alert had been sounded in the rest of the system and all planets went into planetary lockdown. The scientists of Saturn saved their research and date in the data banks on Earth before initiating a total system wipe and forming a network air wall around their planet by deactivating their satellites' communication channels and setting up a closed network. They entered the underground bunker as part of the SOP in the event of planetary invasion. The surface was manned by more military members who were present for security purposes and reinforced by the Martian Legions.
The same SOP was in place for all planets in the system. Civilians were to enter the underground bunkers, where food, water and energy stockpiles were put in place to last 3 years in the case of food and 1 year regarding energy stores. This was to limit the scope of warfare and reduce its impact on the safety and security of civilians to preserve economic, social, psychological and civil defence. 4 of the 5 pillars of total defence lauded by the Sengan government.
The last line of defence for the civilians were the oft unheard of Subterranean Infantry and Armour Regiments, trained in tunnel, land and anti-air warfare. They represented about 20% of those housed underground however and their main advantage was their ability to fight underground more than anything.

((DJ, this is your last warning. Orose requested you limited conflict to skirmishes for early game. They're worried you're going to try to go into full warfare, but don't.))

((DJ, I'm pretty sure I asked that we keep it to skirmishes. You seem to be planning a full-scale invasion. Keep in mind that food supply is a major factor in warfare. No food means malnourished soldiers and limited manpower, an army marches on its stomach after all. Also, please note that when it comes to warfare, I tend to engage a relatively high level of realism. So even if you claim your empire is composed of brilliant tacticians, if I as a player happen to employ better tactics than you, I still have a pretty decent chance to win. I'll close one eye if you decide to engage in full-scale war, but I will not hesitate to demand and call you out for unrealistic maneuvers, weapons or essentially any action you take during this war.
That said, your scorched earth policy makes little sense. You say your empire is built on expansion and conquest to drive its economy and agriculture. A scorched earth policy means you wipe out everything that's useful to us but those things should, logically, be useful to you as well. Perhaps it's in-character for your empire but I invite you to reconsider your playstyle. A culture built purely on war need not be totally antagonistic. Think of the Romans, the Mongols and the Vikings. All 3 were built on warfare. Conquest for the former 2 and raids for the vikings but they didn't found their culture solely on war.
Honestly, War RPs are more trouble than they're worth and I'd like to avoid it in an empire-building game. Perhaps I sound whiny or uncooperative to you but it's the truth. Vodok mentioned it, and I've been part of a war rp before. Sh*t gets old real fast. If you want to play war games, go play Warhammer. If you want to stay here, I suggest you reinvent your empire to a less warlike one.
If you insist on fighting Senga, I'll participate but I demand realistic war actions every step of the way. Fail to comply and I will make sure you "kena left, right and centre", "give you 1x jialat jialat" and "hou lu jiak sai" as they say in my nation. Your lack of resources indicate that in that scenario, I have the upper-hand [and a defending force that outnumbers your attacking force]. Please reconsider your playstyle for this RP.))

((Furthermore, DJ I agree with Orose on this one. This RP is meant to be character driven and I'm doing everything possible to keep it that way. I recommend you make your species evolve and develop a diplomatic policy. Not only does the Sengan Empire have the advantages Orose already mentioned, but they also have the ally advantage on this one. The Cogniut may be a glass canon species, but they're still a reliable source of available resources. As well as the time lords as an extension of allies. Warfare spurs people into developing technology for battle. Especially since Tardis is based on Doctor Who time lords, and when they went into an intergalactic war, The Time War that resulted in them creating a variety of eldritch abominations that terrorized all of time and space. Even though they're less advanced at the moment they could still be spurred towards a state when they were reigned over by Omega.))
((Fine, but nobody usually ever interacts with me on these types of rps and that's why i go war-based, to, in a sense, ensure some kind of interaction*))

You can try doing what I did andmake first contact by sending out an omnidirectional communications signal, like a "hey I'm here don't ignore me" kind of thing. You essentially just admitted to picking fights for attention which is pretty immature and lacking in creativity imo.))
((I have my reasons, gonna have to rp someone pleaing to Supreme Emporer Kronz tho, he the guy in charge. Gonna reduce to DEFCON 1 (normal readiness)))

((if you like we can RP the Spartans getting outnumbererd, outgunned and outmaneuvered
That way they have an excuse to male a tactical retreat and if Kronz is reasonable at all he can say, "sh*t, going to war against another advanced civilisation wont work because we don't have the resources for sustained warfare." And from there he can develop his diplomatic policy))
