Greetings,
To be honest, this is my first time entering such a formal setting as a forum for roleplay. Despite being hesitant to write here, as I have a knack for being incredibly reserved, I know even if I wrote a prose here as grand and flowing as the Amazon river I wouldn't be happy with it anyway. Though I have been creating stories and characters for years, my experience consists of Skype roleplays and the like. My favorites are sci-fi and apocalyptic settings, but I'm a flexible person and will roleplay any type, as a good story can be made with anything.
I'm not sure if my writing skills are up to par to some, or if my characters are interesting, but nevertheless, I hope to meet new people and join some roleplays.

When getting started with RP, I really recommend this primer on basic RP concepts as a starting place. Even if you have some RP experience, it can be a nice way to see what the general norm is here.
We also had some community discussions awhile back about how to improve at RP.. I boiled them down into interesting articles for those who are interested. Here's a selection of my favorite ones:

The responsibility of ALL RPers (getting this one right will generally make people sing your praises!)
And if you want to put a slightly more advanced technique in your back pocket for now and again: Using dice to enhance RP
There's lots of things to do and try here, so if you need help, there's a few ways to get help. You can always try typing your question into the search box, or you can go to the Help section to see a list of popular articles. If you still need more help, our community is wonderfully friendly. Always feel free to ask for help if you need it!
