Joined a couple secs ago for a friend, though I don't know the first thing about roleplaying, lol, but I can learnn
I'm reaaallyy extroverted and love going outside to adventure, and I can't stay still for one secondd, and you'll usually find me typing in all caps a lot (but it's too early for thiss)
I have a couple friends from this site, including my boyfriend, but I'm like, super ready to meet tons of other people along the way and maybe even roleplay, since that's what the site's for and everything

Welcome to RPR! As you can tell from the Introductions part of the forums you are not the only new person here. This is a great community filled with friendly people so I'm sure it won't be hard to find a few new friends. Good luck in trying to RP for the first time and be sure to have fun no matter what you do!

Welcome to the RPR forums. If you like long-term group roleplays involving 'medieval darkages' and 'epic high fantasy' in a large world that is semi-organized, with lots of players, a timeline, and many kingdoms to choose from: The Kingdom of Ash (Fantasy RP): https://www.rprepository.com/g/KingdomOfTheAshes
We are a very laid back, friendly group with lots of players. Kingdom of Ash RP is for mature audiences only (not yet rated). It's easy to join, though we are growing now so we'll ask that you have at least some RPing experience before joining (7th grade literacy required). It's a turn-based freestyle paraform collaborative story in the making. So if you like anything magical-- RP's with humans, elves, drow, dwarves, wizards, hobbits, dragons, etc.-- if you are a fan of LoTR, MtG, DnD or GoT and things like that, then come join us!
You won't regret it.

When getting started with RP, I really recommend this primer on basic RP concepts as a starting place. Even if you have some RP experience, it can be a nice way to see what the general norm is here.
We also had some community discussions awhile back about how to improve at RP.. I boiled them down into interesting articles for those who are interested. Here's a selection of my favorite ones:

The responsibility of ALL RPers (getting this one right will generally make people sing your praises!)
And if you want to put a slightly more advanced technique in your back pocket for now and again: Using dice to enhance RP
This is a pretty big site with a lot of features and areas, so if you have a question, don't worry, there's a lot of resources. You can always try typing your question into the search box, or you can go to the Help section to see a list of popular articles. If you still need more help, our community is wonderfully friendly.
