Viktoriya stood still, a little suprised by the offer. She bit her lip while she hesitated. "But.... I'll just be a burden to you and your sister." She said in a soft voice. I had been a long time since anyone had shown her any kindness; she didn't know what to think.
"You're a burden to no one." Dave replied kindly.
Viktoriya restrained herself from hugging the boy that showed her such kindness. "Thank you...... no ones ever showed me such..... compassion in a long time." She smiled at him, a sincere one.
"Then they should!" Dave said matter-of-factly. "Come on, let's go, maybe we can catch the 5 'o' clock bua!"
Viktoriya's smile dropped into a confused frown. "A what?" She asked, tilting her head to the side in confusion.
"You've never been on a bus before?" Dave asked curiously.
"No." She said hanging her head in shame. Then a thought hit her. "Ah, I don't know your name yet!" She said streching out her hand. "How rude of me! I'm Viktoriya."
"Dave." he said with a chuckle "Nice name!"
"Thank you, it's Russian." Viktoriya said with a smile. "I like yours too."
"Nothing that special about it." He replied with a smile.
"So, what is a.... bus?" Vitoriya asked tilting her head to one side, letting her blonde hair drap over her sholder.
"Come on, I'll show you!" he said, as he started to walk towards the busstop. The bus appeared to have just left though. "We'll heave to wait for a few minutes."
Viktoriya sat on one of the benches near the busstop and let her feet swing side to side, humming an unfimilar tune.
"What song is that?" Dave asked.
Viktoriya shrugged. "I don't know. It's just a tune I always knew." As she said this, her eyes layed rest on her feet.
Dave didn't inquire further. The buss rolled in not much later. "There it is!" he said.
Viktoriya suddenly shrank at the sight of the large veical. It's presents made her feel small compared to its size. "I see.... so thats a..... yeah." Her voice was tainted with a bit of fear. "How.... big."
Dave just smiled in response. "Nothing to be afraid of! It'll just take us there faster. Come one, let's go." He walked to the buss door, which just opened, and got in As he walked through it to the back, he took an empty two-seat and kept one free for Viktoriya to sit by the window.
Viktoriya cautiously walked onto the bus and and took her seat next to Dave, aware that peoples eyes were on her. SHe glanced down at her lap and griped her skirt again to keep her hands from twitching as they always do when shes nervous.
Dave looked at her with a concerned feeling. "Will you be allright? If you're nervous, just look outside and enjoy the view!"
