Old, cold game...sounds like an ice breaker of sorts...not sure.

Perhaps ice hockey? The NHL is a century old, and the majority of teams are played in colder regions of the world, most notably the northeastern US and Canada.

There's also the Winter Olympics, which have been going on since 1924. We've also got dog sledding, which is typically done in northern regions and various other winter sports like skiing and snowboarding.

That's what I was thinking!

Perhaps it could even be a video game of some sort, or a level within one. I'm thinking of Super Mario 64, specifically Cool, Cool Mountain. One of the missions involve you rolling a giant ball of snow down the mountain, and as the name suggests, it's a cold mountain. Super Mario 64 has two wintery themed levels and it's over twenty years old, so I'm sure it'd count as old.
