The premise is fairly simple; this RP is set in a remote village where mainly non-human beings live. Anyone can join with as many characters as you like. I would like to ask people to try to steer clear of oneliners, but other than that I don't feel like setting up a whole ruleset, I'm not your mum. Wether it's going to be a village of peaceful co-existence or one in which tensions quickly rise will be entirely up to all of you.
There was a bit of irony involved, Mia realized. She'd tried so hard to leave the small village of her family, to step into the almost entirely different world of large cities full of skyscrapers, but her she was, back in another little village. And the stupid thing was, it felt right, safe.
The narrow roads hadn't changed in ages and modern cars barely fit through them, though that mattered little as almost any part of the place could be easily reached on foot, or by bicycle.
Mia's long, dark hair was tied up in a simple bun and she wore a wine-red, shortsleeved summerdress, as it happened to be a fairly pleasant day.
On either side of the road were old houses, built from small, irregularly shapes rocks, all a slightly yellowish overtone. The windows had shutters, though no one closed theirs on a day like this. Many had colorful flowers in front of the windows. It was simultaneously serene as well as a little too peaceful. Mia couldn't shake the impression that this was the sort of place where people didn't like those that dared to rock the boat.

The smell of a beautiful young woman hit his nostrils like caffeine on a Sunday morning. Adelwulf had been reading an old newspaper article, one of a stack of really old ones the mayor had stacking up on one side of the village library, which was a cottage really, just with 5 shelves of mostly archives of the town's history than anything academical. The state-run newspaper no longer supplied to them, because, few in the village seemed to care. Adelwulf was only reading because there was little he could do pass time other than that. It was a massive change from the old days of adventure and hunting down the remnants of Crusaders, but it was still better than the nothing of this old town. It was peaceful, and right up Adelwulf's alley for what he had needed 5 years ago.
The girl did not smell like any other he had...smelled before in this village. She had a pulse and was livelier than the old folk living here. Long dark hair and a pretty dress, so a decent woman. From where Adelwulf sat on the steps leading into his own little cottage, he waved at the young woman. "Haven't seen you around here. Are you new or am I just dumb enough to have not noticed?" Adelwulf hunted at night and rarely stayed up during the day to notice the people that happen in this establishment during daylight hours. As such, he wouldn't have been surprised if the woman turned out to be a resident. Adelwulf chuckled to himself.

A dark-haired man sitting on the steps of a cottage waved at her. Slightly surprised, Mia waved back. Sometimes these small villages kept to themselves, sometimes the people were eager to welcome new people; it was hard to pinpoint which was which, sometimes, but she gave a brief smile and walked over to the man. The yellow eyes, the scent; there was a familiarity about it. Not familiar enough to peg him as one of the Family, but she felt certain he had to be a were-creature of some kind as well, or at least a mix of sorts, though she did not breach that particular subject.
His words got a faint smile out of her and she shook her head.
"No, I just arrived last week," she explained. While not slow, she did have calm, somewhat deliberate way of speaking. Mia had grown used to weighing her words before saying them and by now it was just as much part of her as the fondness for pretty though basic, feminine clothing was.
"I take it you must be a local, then?" she said. You usually didn't sit down on some stranger's porch, after all.

Adelwulf stood up in greeting. It would be rude to continue talking to a guest without showing her an ounce of respect, especially since she'd come to his abode. As the woman came closer though, Adelwulf picked up on something he hadn't before, something sinister hiding beneath mortal flesh and blood, something he could relate to. Intriguing... Adelwulf was surprised. Someone who looked and felt through her pale beauty a human and yet was not. His inner beast urged to explore...but Adelwulf knew better.
Not now...not here...even if she is my kind, which I have no idea if she is...I still can't force her.
Adelwulf had been alive for 800 years. He knew a bit about restraining himself. As he was thinking about her, he didn't let his facial expression twitch or change to the whims of his inner beast. He merely maintained a calm, until she had finished talking. "In a manner of speaking," Adelwulf nodded, "Been living here five years. Quiet town with almost no upstart to cause trouble..." If you discount the man himself. Adelwulf snickered. "Anyway, what made you fancy this little town of ours in the middle of nowhere?" Adelwulf queried. Don't tell me you are also a murderous werewolf looking for retirement? He mused to himself.

Was he warning her? The bit about lack of trouble hadn't sounded different from his tone afterwards, so decided not to assume too much. No good ever came from making blind assumptions. Besides, if anyone preferred to lay low and live without trouble it would be her.
She gave a light shrug.
"I travel a fair bit," she said. "And I heard about this place when I was already in the region."
Even with the certainty that this man wasn't a fullblood human, she still didn't feel like revealing too much about herself all at once. Both enemies and allies could be equally unlikely sometimes.
"It is quite lovely here," she said. "Almost like time just... stood still here." It made her wonder about the place's history. She's picked up a few things about the village on her way here, mostly superstitions from regular humans in neighboring towns - though the word neighboring was generous here, given the distances - and it had piqued her interest a fair bit.
The fact that neither him nor her had taken any steps so far to acknowledge what the other was - as she guessed that, based on what she herself was able to pick up about him, he surely would be aware that she was at least not human - might have made others uneasy, but Mia wasn't too bothered about it. If nothing else it wasn't the sort of subject you'd breach in the middle of the street in broad daylight anyway.

hello and good day
Cynder was an odd soul. She never really socialized with anyone. A short woman with red hair and dark eyes, very unassuming in all. She had been living in the village for years, her home a cottage near the edge of town. People knew of her, but didn't know her. Every so often she could be spotted taking a walk in the country side, or sitting on her porch reading. In all, the young looking woman spent most of her time indoors.
Today, though, just so happened to be one of her rare trips into town. With a wicker basket on her arm, she made her way to the small market place. It just so happened that she spotted the two talking on the porch of the man's house. She had seen Adelwulf before, yet the female was completely new. Then she did something that was completely unheard of, and approached them. She stopped some feet away, a soft smile playing across her lips.
"Greetings. I couldn't help but notice there is a stranger in our midst."
She spoke in a kind tone, her dark irises passing between the two as she did.

"It's certainly something, isn't it?" Adelwulf asked in admiration of the place. For many years, this little populace had managed to stop the invasion of modern life, skyscrapers and the like in. Adelwulf smelled the woman's hesitation. He realized that she too, most likely knew what he was, but since they were out in the open, it wasn't a particularly good subject to be engaging in, in general.
Adelwulf turned at the entrance of the short woman with red hair and a basket on her arm... like the little red riding hood, Adel thought. He loved thinking that of the woman that had lived along the outskirts of the town, and mostly like to keep to herself. Adelwulf had seen her before, of course, but never taken a particular fancy to talk to her, mostly because, in this town, no one was what they appeared to be. "Yes indeed. She found our quiet little town to be of fancy,"

Mia flashed a smile at the woman who joined them.
“I’ve arrived here only a week ago,” she admitted politely. This woman, too, was different, but Mia didn’t dare hazard a guess in what way; she easily picked out her own kind and those somewhat close to it, but outside of most were-creatures, she had a hard time pinpointing what exactly someone was.
“Do you get many strangers here?” she asked the two. On one hand she could see how this place attracted people looking for a place where they didn’t stand out, though on the other side it wasn’t easy to find.

Lia had hoped that she could get away from all the troubles of growing up In a small town in the middle of the woods, but she always ended back up in a place just like her hometown, just this place didn’t have towering trees or various animal sounds she had grown accustomed to.
This town, hopefully, was a lot more different than the other places she had been too.

She walked along the sidewalk, quietly carrying a white pet carrier and pulling a small black suitcase.
She adjusted her big floppy hat on top her head and ran a hand down her short sleeve pale pink sundress to smooth out any wrinkles from it. As she did so, her book that had been sitting in her purse fell out and landed on the ground in front of her.
