Joseph Arevalo (played by Sprokkelhout)

This is a 1x1 between -CoolShortie- and Sprokkelhout

The night was falling. Joseph had just gotten a signal from his guys that the girl was in a perfect spot to strike. The men had been carefully shadowing her throughout the day, working in shifts, as to prevent her from noticing the same person appearing everywhere she was, and now she was in the type of shady area where people knew to watch their beer instead of noticing things that should go unnoticed.
Was Joseph proud of what he was about to do? No. What he content with how he set it up? Certainly.
He made his way down several narrow alleyways. His normal, trendy casual clothes were swapped for a hoody and dark sweatpants; he blended right in here, which was good.
He then lingered in another alley, close to where it was all about to go down, the whole carefully orchestrated plan. The girl wouldn't really be in danger, but she didn't know that, of course. They had gotten permission to threaten her with whatever they wanted and to maybe try to drag her along if needed, but it had been clear that she was not to be seriously harmed. A hospital visit would make things unnecessarily complex, after all.
Joseph waited, tense all over, hand on the weapon tucked inside of his waist. The men, too, had nothing to fear. No one would get stabbed, but the show would be done well, very well...

All throughout the day, Pen had noticed various people staring at her, but she was used to it. She just tried to ignore them, going about her day like usual. Little did she know, though, her evening was about to turn sour, very quickly. She found herself walking home, carefully staring at a map that she had on her phone. She didn't know the city well - She and her sister Nimeh had only been there for a few weeks. Managing to miss a turn, she walked right past the side street that she was supposed to turn down, which would have led her almost straight to where she was staying.
Suddenly, a light above her went out, and she stopped, looking around. Fear crept into her heart as she realized that she was lost, and she did the one thing that you should never do: She started wandering around, not paying attention to the signs marking the streets. A few minutes later, she was hopelessly lost and confused, and scared, on the verge of panic. Seeing an alleyway, she decided to see if she could take a shortcut through it. Maybe it would lead to one of the main streets? Turning into the dark corridor, she glanced behind her, wondering if she was making the right decision.
She walked down the alley for only a few moments, before movement caught her eye. She whipped around, expecting something to be there, but there was nothing. This boosted her already high anxiety levels, and she felt something inside of her start to change. "No, no, no," she whispered to herself, knowing what was going to come next, if she didn't find her way out of there. Turning back down the alley, she continued forwards, only stopping when she realized it was a dead-end. Her eyes widened, and she turned around, realizing that she had to go back.

As the young woman turned around, three large men made sure that it’d be very hard to move past them, back out of the alley.
“Look at that, boys,” one of them, a large, blonde guy with an impressive beard said, tilting his head to the side. The other two chuckled.
“I’d say we’re lucky tonight."
Joseph, being within earshot, conveniently chose to ignore the realization that even with his staged ‘intervention’ the whole situation could be fairly traumatizing for a young lady on her own. What had to be done had to be done, after all.
The three slowly closed in a little, taking their time, knowing that their target couldn’t really go anywhere.
“What are you doing out here so late, huh?” one of them said, grinning at her. “No one told you you shouldn’t be in this part of town after dark?"
Joseph listened closely for the right moment to jump in. Too soon and it wouldn’t feel like enough of a rescue possibly, too late and the men would have to escalate in order to keep the act up.

Seeing the large shadows blocking the path out, Pen froze, her eyes widening. What had she gotten herself into? She should have paid attention to where she was going, what streets she was going down...
She could make out some details of the three in front of her, but it was too dark to be able to see them clearly. She took a hesitant step back as they approached, glancing back to see the brick wall that blocked her escape. Turning her gaze again to the men, she let out a quiet whimper, quickly raising her hands to cover her mouth.
"I... I got lost, and... I-I took a wrong turn, and..." She trailed off, not being able to finish her sentence. She raised a hand to her throat, brow furrowing as she realized that she couldn't breathe. She started shaking, turning pale as her hands clenched, a thin layer of dark fur appearing on them. She stumbled back, leaning against the wall as the fur spread farther up her body, now covering her shoulders and being visible around her ankles. Gasping, she got her breath back, coughing as she doubled over.
