Hi guys!

Lately I had met some amazing guys that RPed with me for quite a while until they just...vanished. I bet you all do know this feeling.

So just consider this topic as some sort of "shrine" where you can say goodbye to the ones that will never be able to hear it, as an opportunity to give Kudos to them that won't be able to appreciate them.
Perhaps you can meet someone who knew the same person.

I will start with my fallen hero's:

ShinessKey. She was one of my first role-playing partners and boy am I thankful for that. Her replies had been beautiful, had been vivid and extremely emotional. She was so good in fact that I had 2 RP's with her at the same time.
And if she wouldn't have been, I wonder if I would still be on this site. She taught me a lot. Sadly it was a long time ago...

Vodok with Yue. Yue was the only character of this person that I had the chance to play with. Well thought out, highly detailed and full of ideas are the best ways to describe his/her style of writing. However he/she said that he needs a break for exams but never came back...

Marleymonoh with Xetsa Break. One of the earliest Partners of mine that actually had a reunion with me after she had been gone for 2 months. Nonetheless her writing style had been pleasent to read. Sadly she was one day gone, replaced with thick black lines.

Megan Carter played anonymously. My most detailed Long-term RP so far. Simply a blast to write with her, nothing topped the way she wrote. Even though our characters had some difficulties during the start, it soon ended in a thrilling and intense story that sadly just faded away....

Anyway, let me hear your stories and how they have touched you. Perhaps they can still read it.
I once had a role play partner (it wasn’t on this site) for 4+ years. We had the best story going on! But it just ended actually very recently, which sucks a bit because she just stopped replying and I haven’t gotten anything since. But we had a bunch of characters contributed into the story. But, since I found this site, I’ve been amazing rpers. You being one of them :)

Wow...that's pretty sad. But I am certain that on this website there are more of highly skilled RPers. And who knows, you could soon just stumble over one!

Aww thanks! Same applies to ya ;)

Interesting thread! I will give a nod to a few here from my early daze of online RP writing on The One Ring.

First would be Eleanorae who was heavily involved in my second group RP called Shadow Over Arnor. She wrote some good characters, and my character Halasian interacted quite well with hers.. Then one day after months of fairly regular posting, she failed to log in. Days turned to weeks, and then months, and she never ever returned. Also her email address went dormant. Makes one wonder what happened. This was one of the first online "ghosting" experiences I had.

Another is Heliona who wrote on that same RP. She was quite active and when writers like Eleanorae and Innkeeper and The Nameless Thing faded to black in their posting. When a year or so passed, we were the only ones left of the story's RP group. We wrapped the story up, but never RP'd together again despite becoming RL friends. Still in touch with her on FB.

A couple others I'll mention now is Elentari and Telmar the Black. They were RL GF/BF pair, and our writing in the Journey to Tol Barad RP was epic! It was also the first and one of a few RPs that was written to its natural end by all the writers involved. I'm still in touch with the writer of Elentari. She is in the UK Entertainment media and sometimes has TV appearances on BBC television. They long since broke up, but they are still friends and I see the writer of Telmar the Black on her posts on facebook sometimes.

We also were key writers in a freeform RP The Nameless Inn started by the above mentioned The Nameless Thing, where our antics nearly got us all banned from the One Ring site and the thread deleted. One of the last posts by The Nameless Thing in the thread was something about a bunch of puritans had gathered outside and was quite the angry mob with their torches and pitchforks, and that was when the Molotov Cocktails came crashing through the windows. The thread was deleted not long after, but I did manage to save and archive the thread. Trouble is it is on one of many CD-ROMS I have in a box in the office.

And not really fallen, but my love for writing RP has been greatly enhanced my my dear wife Kaz who has used character names of Elora Starsong and Naiore Dannan. We have been writing stories together since we met online in 2001 and is my current co-writer of a Kin Strife fanfic.

I personally think this thread is rude and unnecessary. It seems really out of line to not only publically name people who have stopped rping with you or disappeared, but also air the reasons they gave you and/or air things they told you in private or on other websites entirely to the public of RPR. Threads like this honestly would make me unlikely to want to rp with people who participate in this type of thing. I'm fairly sure this is also against the rules but even with out that, it's very uncomfortable and anxiety inducing to think that someone might just list me and personal stuff I've said to them in the forums under the guise of 'honouring' if I happened to stop rping with them or disappeared for some personal reason.
I don't think the spirit of this thread topic is anything so sinister as that.
