I got Mario Puzo, who wrote mafia stuff. Hmmm...

I did too. As well as Anne Rice for a post from the same source.

My writing is likened to Rudyard Kipling. After some reading I'd like to take it as a compliment... I'm not certain though!

With a separate character I've found I also write like Ian Fleming. JamesBondddyesss.

Anne Rice, for 3 samples of text. I've yet to read any of her books, to be honest.
If I can suggest, perhaps check out a film that was spawned due to the book? Try watching Interview with the vampire
It says I write like Dan Brown. :I
Rastignac

Most of my fanfic lately is either Chuck Palahniuk or Ian Fleming. The short story I'm doing is William Gibson. (Nothing terribly shameful, I suppose.)

But apparently my current RP style is Oscar Wilde, an author I've never gotten before. Huzzah!
My Omni-Tannis-Mode has the same style as Jack London. And in the next post, I write like Neil Gaiman. A few posts later and a new scene, and I write like Arthur Conan Doyle. A different scene and a new day, and I write like Vladimir Nabokov. The post after that one, and I write like Kurt Vonnegut. A post where Tannis begins using magic, and I begin to write like James Joyce.

So many male writers, yet Vladimir Nabokov is the most common amongst them.
Interesting widget thing.

I copied all my posts from my last RP with my Redwall Muck rats and got: J. K. Rowling

Copied one post from my very first RP (with one of the above rats) and got: James Joyce

Copied more from my very first RP and got: J. K. Rowling

Copied a whole RP that was between my same character(rat) an NPC(otter) of mine and a character(rat) I had at that time just created and got: Chuck Palahniuk

After reading a bit on this Chuck guy I think the content of my RP may also be a factor.

I suspect the fact that my characters I tested with have typed out accents may also have an effect my results some what. I think the test may use certain key words that are used a lot or something to get the results. I dunno.

Tested with RP posts from other characters I have.

An old RP from Kikuto got: Chuck Palahniuk

An old RP from Isabel got: Chuck Palahniuk

An old RP from Dandy got: Chuck Palaniuk

Hmm, I seem to write like J. K. Rowling and Chuck Palaniuk the most so far according to this thing.

A few posts from an old RP Shad was in got: Cory Doctorow

A single post from an old RP my feral rat character (formerly unknown as Spats) got: Stephen King

I really should use Shad and the feral rat more.

I now have a new something to waste time with. Thanks. :)

Copied the first chapter of my only fanfic which was a one shot and through others asking for more I quickly added more which was not such a good thing, but I was good a experience over all.

So for the short story/first chapter to a poor Rescue Ranger's fanfic I got: Kurt Vonnegut

I seem to write like people who's work I've never read or heard of. (I have heard of J. K. Rowling, but never got into Harry Potter when it was new though now that the movies are over I'm slightly interested. Of course I didn't start reading Redwall books until way after they stopped being popular for my age group too. I even asked for the books as gifts, but lost interest in them before finishing them all. >.< Derp! )

Haven't gotten a Kipling*, or Poe or anyone I'd consider noteworthy yet.

*Loved nearly everything of his I've read so far except Kim. Sooo boring. Ended up seeing the ending of the story in an old movie adaption so I don't think I missed out in not finishing it. That was one of the few books I don't regret parting with. And I love books and read just about anything and everything with writing on it.
This thing entertains me.

Luke posts: H.P. Lovecraft and William Gibson
The urban fantasy crew: Stephen King and William Gibson

Clearly I need to read William Gibson.

EDIT: One King-esque post + the word 'vampire' peppered in at random in nonsensical places, FOR SCIENCE: Stephenie Meyer

AUTHORIAL ALCHEMY.

Fascinating, when it comes to writing my descriptions and blurbs of information my writing style is like that of Harry Harrison.

However, when I'm actually writing up a post or two my writing is like Anne Rice's. So I'm a mix of quickfire and to the point while being senuous and crafting a visionscape to keep you engaged.

That makes me feel better about myself
1st Result was Edgar Allan Poe: Rather pleased with that result honestly as the man was a legend in the horror genre.

2nd Result was Stephen King: Not sure about this one as I don't believe I have read anything of his.

3rd Result was Rudyard Kipli: I have no idea who this guy is.

I did 7 tries altogether, but I never got the same person twice. So I would say that I don't write like anyone in particular.
durgan

I write like H. G. Wells. Proof: http://iwl.me/s/a85d5606
Ray Bradbury and J.D. Salinger.
I only bothered running through it once. Got Dan Brown.
Somehow I got J. D. Salinger from using Revy's latest post O__o

EDIT: And Arthur C. Clark / David Foster Wallace for two of Rane's posts.
