Roland looked up when he heard the trashcan clattered, and he caught the sight of a leg and foot turning the corner. Uhoh, that could be trouble. Might be another member of that gang, going to stir things up again. "Hey!" He started running after, skidding around the corner quickly and dashed after the fleeing culprit. "Get back here!" He caught up quick. Damn, he was fast.
He grabbed her by the shoulder and turned her around, staring when he saw who it was. "...Josephine?"
He grabbed her by the shoulder and turned her around, staring when he saw who it was. "...Josephine?"
Joli continued to run, at least until Roland caught up with her and took her by her shoulder and stopped her. She stared at him for a moment, holding her breath before she jerked her shoulder away. "Let go of me." She didn't sound very happy about being grabbed.
Blaise made a 'ooohhhhhh' sound, as if he were a school child, but Joli turned to look in his direction, about to fly off. "Sh-.. Shit." She looked back to Roland, not really sure what to say, now that she had freed herself. She backed up a bit more. She wasn't that scared of him, but she was concerned. He was quicker than she was. Obviously stronger than she was and he didn't seem to have any problem with jumping into fights. How could she be sure that he wasn't some weirdo who beat down on those younger than he to assert dominance, or something worse? People were crazy. She was taken back by these things and it was troubling.
Joli was panting, attempting to catch her breath and he had not even broken a sweat. "What is your problem?" Being chased was not fun.. She frowned deeply and clenched her bag a bit. She didn't have a weapon on hand, but she did have keys. Keys could do quite a bit of damage!

Roland let go of her quickly, putting his hands up. "Sorry. I thought you were another one of those punks picking on my family. My cousins get into trouble, but I know there's a gang around here that likes to start a lot of it. I thought you were one of them, and you were going to get the rest to cause more trouble." He chuckled. "Sorry about that. Are you okay?"
He hadn't meant to make her run. Poor girl was so out of breath. But it took a bit for him to even get a little out of breath. After all....werewolf. But she didn't need to know that. "You need to be careful going home, okay? The streets are getting more dangerous lately." He didn't like it. That was his third call about his pack in as many days. Those stupid kids loved getting into trouble.

She didn't think it would be right of her to lecture HIM on not beating up on high school kids. Nor did she care to. He wasn't improving his relationship all that much with her.. Yesterday was.. weird and today was creepy. Tomorrow she hoped he wasn't even more so.
She looked around in disbelief, sticking her hands up. "I'm wearing loafers and a sweater vest." Really? Maybe he didn't notice. Being driven usually causes you to overlook things, but it wasn't that great. "Yeah.. I'm fine."
She rolled her eyes a little. "Yeah, I know that, Mr Lyall." She actually sort of hoped she would run into Nikolai or his wife.. They were sort of like family, all she really needed anyway.. They'd make this situation better. She stayed back from Roland, continuing to watch him. "I.. I'm going to go."

Roland gave an embarrassed chuckle. "I was in over-protective mode. Sorry." He nodded and let her leave. "Take care, Josephine." He headed back to his car. Why did he keep running into her? And he always got that weird feeling around her, like something just wasn't quite right. No matter. He got into his car and drove home. He had a lecture to give to a few of his pack. The last thing he wanted was to be called up because his pups were getting into a fight. As the alpha, he was responsible for that. Roland sighed. Why were things so complicated?
She turned from him after he explained, and didn't bother to wave. She just wanted to go home.. Maybe she'd go out to the location and look it over, but she didn't think she'd be doing anything like going in.
Her night was going to be spent taping a book together and trying to understand it.. Her relationship with Blaise may improve, but she doubted it. It was hard to cope with the fact that you are always going to see ghosts. It isn't just specific ghosts. It's all of them. Some hide, and do well hiding, but even now, as she headed home, she could see them. Spirits wandering around just.. existing when they shouldn't be.
The next day was not a school day, and for that Joli was relieved.. She'd have to drop her uniform off, and maybe do some laundry today.. Not to mention clean up the papers. She peered up from the couch at the near endless amounts of trash that had been created from the letters.. She didn't even read half of them, mostly just took the pages and would begin work on the book.. Out of 120 letters, she only had 40 pages. It aggravated her, but it was helpful. She didn't even bother to open the book again to read it, rather she brought it back to the lockbox and got up to start her day.
She had things to do.. Tomorrow may be a very important day, so.. she wanted to make sure she got things that would be problematic later, done as soon as possible. Joli worked through the small apartment, took a shower and dressed, grabbing what money she did have and a shopping list from the fridge then glanced back for the main room, frowning. "Come on, Blaise." She said, turning and leaving. It wasn't like he had a choice.

Roland was busy the next morning. Making sure the pack was in check, making sure no threats were around. And grading. Grading, preparing, and everything else that came with being a teacher. But before he was stuck to a desk for a few hours, he was going to go on his run. A large patch of the woods was the property of his family. So he jogged through the forest shirtless, just wearing a pair of jeans with holes in the knees. And he ran barefoot. He had a pair of headphones, and was listening to music as he ran through the forest. He loved the forest.
She was heading for the market. She was driven to get food for the week, or at least to last her a bit, though her mind escaped her when her cell phone jingled to life. She got a text. Instantly she checked it. 'lŒHÄ Y‰© ÉÉ¡¹‘ K{2q{³s!s» sk525k™k6k+›› |r$oeµaa¤3225$d  +Âr33qÂÂ3 4' She frowned deeply, closing her phone and staring at the ground with a furrowed brow.
Blaise instantly realized something was up and just stared at her, waving at her a bit. "Hey, Joli.. Whats got you lookin so weird?" He questioned, moving closer to stare at the phone, but she closed it. She wasn't supposed to receive texts.. She didn't have that, or wasn't supposed to, since she wasn't paying for that, just a basic phone service. That ended after her parents vanished. "Uh.. N.. Nothing." she shook her head and turned.
After a while everything sort of just.. Phased out. It was all a blur and she was going in the opposite direction, away from the inner workings of the city, where the market was, and out towards the forest.
Her eyes had been glossed over, or seemed to be, and over time she looked worse off. Whatever had been making her ill yesterday hit again, and it got worse..
Eventually she snapped to, coming out of whatever trance she was in, but found herself along a not so well traveled path in the forest, staring out into the distance. Blaise had been trying for who knows how long to get her attention, finally she could hear him yelling at her and she turned to him, staring in silence, before she collapsed to the ground, perhaps not too far off from where Roland was..
"oh feh.. You have to be kidding me. Joli, get up! Come on!" He did everything he could think of to try and get her up.. Since she could see him, she also could feel him, more like an actual person, but it wasn't always like this.. His existence flickered now that she was unconscious, but he'd still try hitting her with a few smacks to wake her up, finding nothing worked he just huffed and cursed to himself. He'd have to wait for her to wake, or search for her and he did not want to do either. Then he noticed Roland, and would move for the man.
A itch behind the ear, or a tugging sensation given to the jeans to try and lead him to Joli.. Perhaps even the slight appearance of his apparition, pointing, but it wouldn't last but for a second. Perhaps just the tree's lining up weird. Who knew, but Blaise was trying to send a message.

Blaise's messages were received, but they weren't even needed. He could smell her. He jogged over and gasped. "Josephine!" He pulled the headphones down and knelt down, checking for a pulse and heartbeat. He didn't smell blood, so she wasn't injured. And she had all her clothes on, so nothing bad had happened in THAT aspect. He sighed and stood, picking her up and holding her in his arms carefully.
"I swear...most troublesome student I've ever had." he grumbled softly. He ran back to his house, on the edge of the forest, and managed to open the door. "Maria, put on some tea. Found someone passed out in the forest." A woman, a few years older than Roland, looked out from the kitchen. "Oh my goodness. Right away! Go ahead and put her on my bed, Roland." He nodded and went upstairs, going into one of the bedrooms and laying Joli down on the bed carefully. He covered her with a light blanket and sighed.

Everything felt so heavy. She wanted to open her eyes and come out of it, but she was having a hard time fighting it.
Eventually her eyes slowly opened and she was staring at the ceiling in an unfamiliar room. She didn't have a clue where she was, but the moment everything came back to her, Blaise started in, asking her if she was okay and commenting on how strange she was. She couldn't make heads of it, so she quietly whispered for him to shut up, as she glanced around the room.
All of it was unfamiliar.. And then she saw Roland, and her eyes went a little wide. "N.. No.. What?" She frowned a little, then attempted to ball up. Her stomach hurt incredibly bad and she was taken by chills that ran deep to the bone. "Ughhh..." She looked to Roland with much confusion. Why was she always running into him.. Why was she in someones home, and why did he have his shirt off. Oh god he had his shirt off and she was in someones bed. No no no, what??

Roland looked at her. "Josephine, you're awake." He sighed in relief. "Are you okay? How are you feeling?" Just then, a blonde woman came in. "Oh good, you're awake!" she said, smiling softly. She held a cup out to her. "Here, have some tea. What happened, honey?" Roland nodded. "That's what I'd like to know, too. Josephine, I found you unconscious in the forest. You seemed alright, just passed out, so I brought you to my home. This is my sister, Maria."
Maria smiled gently. "Is this one of your students, Roland?"
"Yep."
Maria smiled gently. "Is this one of your students, Roland?"
"Yep."
"I don't feel well." She admitted. "The forest.." She looked to Maria, sitting up more and accepting the tea. "Thank you." Joli nodded to the woman. "I." She frowned, looking to the cup, giving it a small sip, and clearing her throat.
"I was going to the U-Save in town.." She got quiet for a moment. Blaise mentioned that she had passed out and that she walked here, but.. It was weird. "I don't know what happened. I left my apartment heading for there when my phone chimed. Everything else is a blur.. I don't know what happened." She admitted, looking like she wanted to cry.
This was far more upsetting than normal crazy things. What if she was having episodes where she blacked out. That was really dangerous and usually meant some sort of tumor or something seriously wrong. "I.. I'm sorry. I should go." She said, trying to set the cup down on the nightstand and slide out of the bed, but she was hit with a wave of nausea and pulled herself back into the bed, her breath slowing down while she tried to keep from being sick. She didn't know why this happened to her..

Roland moved quickly, holding an arm out. "Whoah, you're not in any state to get anywhere. And if you're blacking out like that...it could be dangerous. Just get some rest, alright? You're safe here." he said. Maria rolled her eyes. "She'd probably feel safer if you put on a shirt, Ro." Roland blinked and looked down. "...oh! Right, sorry!" He smiled sheepishly and quickly left the room. Maria sighed and chuckled. "Oh, that man. So clueless sometimes." She smiled gently at Joli. "Just get some rest. We'll call your parents to let them know you're alright, okay? Do you feel hungry? I can make you some soup if you'd like."
She frowned. This was the exact opposite of what she liked in life.. Now she felt like a burden and she wasn't able to do her own thing.
Joli had made a habit of not making eye contact with Roland and even now she wouldnt look directly at him. Simply she slid further back onto the bed and sat there, looking to Maria when he left.
She looked down a bit. "Uh.. I don't have." Joli stopped herself and sighed some. "I live alone." It was easier to say this than say that she didn't have parents or that they were gone. Maybe Maria would get the idea.
"No. I'm not hungry, just.. Tired." She didn't know what to do about all of this. Why her? "Sorry."

Maria did get the idea. "Oh, okay." She just smiled gently. "Then try to get some sleep? And please, don't apologize. You should have seen it when Roland was young. He kept bringing home hurt birds, or lost kittens, and anything of the sort! He brought in a skunk one day, thought she was sick. Turned out she was having babies! Dad was so mad at him, but mom didn't stop laughing about it for a week." She chuckled softly. "So...it's in his nature. Don't be sorry. He's a protector. Just get some rest, and things will be fine."
She was afraid of that.. That it was in his nature for these things. It meant she'd be finding herself with him to deal with if he kept finding her.. But it made a bit more sense now. Why he questioned the way he did and why he was so adamant to help. She couldn't blame him for it, and wouldnt.
A small smile was attempted, and she'd nod to Maria. "I will.." Joli hoped that she wouldnt be here all night. She had shopping to do, as well as other things to do. After a few moments she laid back and rolled over to face the wall. She didn't like this, despite how kind they were. She wanted to be back home, back doing her own thing.. Being independent and not needing anyone else, except the occasional visit from Nikola and his wife..

Maria stepped towards the door. "Just let us know if you need anything, okay?" She turned off the light and left the room, leaving the door open just a crack. Then she went back downstairs. Roland could be heard outside the door. "She okay, Maria?" "Yes, she's fine, Roland. She's getting some sleep. You should get some work done." Steps went downstairs, and then the house was pretty quiet. Just little noises in the kitchen from Maria. Roland was at his desk, working.
Joli did eventually fall asleep, but not before talking with Blaise. She spent maybe an hour doing that. Trying to understand what had happened, or why it had happened. Neither of them liked it. Blaise mentioned that it sounded like a possession and that didn't sound good at all.
"Get some sleep." He finally said. The first time actually something caring came from him. It was obvious that he'd just watch over her.
After a few hours, Joli woke herself up by rolling around a bit too much. She was groggy and sicker than she had been, but managed to pull herself out of the bed, quietly placing her feet to the floor and setting off for the door. Her tea had gone cold, being left there for hours.
She quietly opened the door and peered out into the hall, listening for anything that could tell her where she was opposed to others.

There was the soft sound of a television downstairs, and the light clacking of keys in a room across the hall. A room that had the door slightly ajar. She'd manage to catch a glimpse of an arm, certainly male, muscular. And a tattoo on said arm; a howling wolf's head. Footsteps were heard next, coming up the stairs, and soon Maria was at the top. "Oh...good evening, Josephine." She smiled gently. "I was just coming up to let Roland know it was suppertime. Are you hungry for anything? I can make soup if you'd like."
Hearing the voices, the cracked door opened more fully to reveal Roland. He was wearing jeans and a tanktop, and he had a pair of glasses on. "Feeling any better, Josephine?"

Joli watched his arms moving for a bit, before she shook her head some. Honestly she felt so stupid and it was even worse that she kept running into Roland.
She wanted to escape, but these people were persistent. She wasn't angry at them for it, rather she tried to back off in the room, but stopped, looking to Maria for a moment, thinking it over. Free food was generally very good. "Good evening." She said quietly, nodding a little. "I think I could eat.. Thanks." Just this once, accept it!
When Roland came to the door and opened it, she wanted to hide behind the door. "No. I don't." It was fairly blunt. She didn't know what else to say about it. It was pretty straight forward. She felt like crap!
