To Facebook or not to Facebook? That is a question that I have asked myself a great many times recently, mostly due to find out how far spread the leaks were and some other issues. So looking around to find a place other than Facebook where I can find people to occasionally chat with (being not an active chatter) and some games to enjoy playing, I suddenly thought
why don't I ask my RP friends and those who are there where they have a social site at and if that particular site had games to play.
So who do you use, does it cost and how much as well as what kinds of benefits like games are there? Please tell me your opinions of any social site that you know of and what pitfalls I might find in finding a new one.

I haven't really used it for RP, but I know a lot of people use Tumblr. I know some advantages to it just from a friend that uses it. You can make sideblogs for your characters off your main blog, if you don't want to make a whole other blog. You can customize the blogs however you want, to suit your character. You can also write as much as you want in posts and format your text in a lot of ways. From what I understand, Tumblr has a decently sized RPing community, but it's not like an organized thing, so you have to use tags and search for things yourself. Tumblr also has its own chat system. I don't really know about disadvantages since I haven't really used it to RP, but I think it's one of the most popular for RP out of the big social networking platforms.
Thank you, textualtension. I haven't looked at Tumbler but I have heard of it. I appreciate your input.
There's an app called Roleplay Amino you can use, you can create wiki cards that are character profiles and it's fairly simple to use. Downside is it's only available on mobile, it's great for RP on the go but if you prefer typing on a computer keyboard (like myself because autocorrect can be a pain in the butt) then it's not efficient
Thanks for the information but like you I tend to use my laptop.
There does not seems to have valuable rping on Facebook, but you can find fan group who chat about Rp and meet up announcements.

I am looking more for a good game site actually. Maybe some people to chat with but mostly for online games.
