They come and go, I know. I am staring to notice a pattern, it is HARD to find a good partner and when you do, they're gone within a few short days. I had one partner for 2 YEARS! we don't talk anymore, don't ask. I just perhaps I am trying to find the same person that I met 2 years in each partner I find? Don't know but guess I need to get use to people's styles and try to adjust. Still, hard to find someone you mesh with creative wise.
Most of my roleplay partners have been around for years with me. I have one roleplay partner of nearly 15 years. I make friends out of discussing roleplays.
I have had people disappear that quickly only because we never finished discussing things in the first place.
I found that connecting as friends first while discussing a potential roleplay made the people I wrote with stick around way longer. Finding common interests and talking up all kinds of things.
I did have one writing partner who didn't with any personal interests for a few years but he eventually opened up to it and we are now extremely close friends.
I have had people disappear quickly, but it hasn't been a common thing for me in the least.

That mean's you're one of the luck y ones! In 6 years of role-playing no one has stuck around for more then a year despite me trying to be friends with them. Don't know why but that's just the way it goes for some people.
I can definitely relate to this well. I’ve had a handful of role-play partners who I really connected with, who I talked to ooc for years. I have one who I’ve known for three years who I still role-play with and talk to on a daily basis, who is honestly one of my closest friends. But finding something like that is something I finds to be a rarity. I’m not often the type to start ooc conversations with a role-play partner, and that might contribute to it, but I can hardly ever find a partner willing to stick around for more than a few posts in a plot, let alone long enough to get to know them outside of that. Not a fun feeling.
