Altair stood up, smiling. "Of course, miss Lyna. It's your first day here, why shouldn't I be patient with you? If you have any more questions, as one of the workers in the kitchen, and if they don't know, you can come see me. I'll be in my room, so please fetch me when dinner is ready." He smiled at her, then made his way up to his room until supper time.
Lyna quickly stood up when Altair did.
"Yes, sir. Thank you, sir."
When Altair went up, she made her way to the kitchen, hesitating a little before opening the door and entering. She greeted everyone. "Good afternoon."

The kitchen was bustling. Two chefs, three assistants, and a maid going about helping with the extra things. "Oh, good afternoon." said one of the assistants with a smile. "You're the new one Master Altair brought, aren't you? What can we help you with?"
Lyna was slightly startled to see so many people, but she smiled back. "Yes. My name is Lyna. Um..." she looked away before looking back at the assistant. They all seemed so busy. "I am supposed to be dining with Master Altair. I don't know how to do it properly, and Master Altair said someone here could run me through everything?" Lyna finished a little uncertainly. She wasn't even sure what everything was and how long it would take, so to be sure, she added, "When the dinner is ready, I'm supposed to go and fetch him."
The Assistant nodded. "Mary! Show the new girl how to dine." He smiled, then the maid hurried over and took Lyna out to the table with some of the dining ware. Mary was nice and gentle, and taught Lyna everything. She even divulged a little about Altair.
"He always seems to know what's going on in the house. I guess if you live here for so long, you get the hang of it. He's always been nice, though. He won't get mad if you break a glass or bump something. But if you nudge something out of the way, you always have to be sure to put it back, or else he gets frustrated."

Lyna took great care to remember everything, although she needed to ask for clarification twice, this being so new to her. She really appreciated Mary's gentleness, at the wnd of the lesson, she actually felt more confidence in her newly acquired skills, thanks to Mary's kind attitude.
She smiled a bit when Mary told her about Altair. "He does seem nice. And I guess I'd be frustrated too if things started moving on their own without me being able to see them." She sighed. "Well, at least he won't see if I bog up at dinner. Thank you so much for showing me all this!"

Mary laughed softly and patted Lyna's shoulder. "Of course, I'm happy to. He's really not that bad, and you'll do great at dinner! Manners aren't that important to him. Your wellbeing is more what he's concerned about. he always wants to make sure everyone's well."
Lyna smiled again. "You think so? Thank you." She blushed when Mary told her that Master Altair was interested in her well-being, and everyone's, for that matter. Then she remembered about his well-being. "I'm supposed to fetch him when dinner's ready. Is there still time? If so, is there anything I can do to help?" It seemed that Lyna sincerely wanted to help out with something.
