The two things I like the most about the site are the character pages you can make, and the search function that's just for characters! Character-driven RP is exactly my jam, so just in case it's anyone else's jam, I like to mention them up front.
There are different forums for all the different genres and a lot of resources you can comb through that I think are helpful even for people who have been involved in RP for a while! You should totally take a look around whenever you get a chance if you haven't already. You can stay busy for quite a while just reading.
I hope you have the chance to tell some cool stories with some cool people while you're here! Good luck with everything!
