The wounds were still too fresh for Lumen to put her shirt back on, so she picked up her coat and held it over the front of her torso and summoned the spell that would change her eyes back to the dark brown they were before. "Why should I?" She stood on the other side of the door from him, waiting for a good answer, not trusting.
To think something as simple and fragile like a star could live in space. A ball of fire which should not be possible yet they exist, supporting themselves as they have done for so long. They shine so bright giving hope to those who look up to them. A star, for Shawn personally symbolises freedom.
"Because I want to know if your okay. Even if I didn't I'd have to stick by you because those werewolves and vampires arn't gunna stop" the cold air bit at his pale skin but he felt the warmth of the fire he had going now outside the shack.

Lumen pulled the coat closer and higher up on her torso, turned away from the door, grabbed her knife from the row of weapons on the ground and went to the door, opening it a little, looked at him and opened it more, standing on the other side of the door without saying a word and waited for him to acknowledge the reluctant invitation and come in.
Shawn was staring deeply into the fire, he was deep in thought but the he quickly turned his attention to girl "Thanks" he said with a soft smile. He entered the shack in hopes it would be warmer but boy was it cold "Hey, why are you staying here?" he asked looking around but he turned to look at her sad state. She didn't like who she was or how she looks "you don't have to hurt yourself because you look different..." the smile had gone as he leaned against the wall and looked directly into her eyes for a moment.
She raised an eyebrow and chuckled. "It's not that I don't like how I look. Fallen sometimes scare people and my wings are useless anyway, so I chop them off to reduce annoyance." She closed the door, letting her bloody back face him so he could see what she was talking about. "And I change my eyes to fool those who hunt the Fallen or fear them. Protect myself and others." She turned back toward him and grinned. "There's a small fireplace behind you if you're really that cold. Pansy."
"Shut up" he said with a smile "It's nice to stay warm... Sue me" he said said with chuckle "Stay at a motel?" he saw the wings piled up in bloody pile in the corner "you'd rather face the pain than live with annoyance?"
Lumen's smile faded a little. "Motels are crowded and the pain only lasts a short time." She went to the corner, facing away, picked up a bucket of ice cold water and poured it on her back after dropping the coat, revealing underneath the blood that the wounds were almost healed. She then went back to the coat, covered herself and put on her shirt over the coat and slipped the coat down from underneath and looked back at him. "Tada."
