I came here... not exactly as a newb, but as someone who hadn't roleplayed since I was like 15 and boy had my storytelling style changed a lot in that time! I found some really nice people to talk to and type with. I'm sure you'll find some good RP friends, too.
What kind of genre or plot do you think you'd like to dabble in the most? Where does your storytelling heart live?!

Definitely Fantasy, Sci-Fi and Fantasy-Historical. Modern too if it has human hybrids! Nothing scary... 0.o

There's a huge variety of stories to be found, and plenty of friendly people willing to jump into co-creating and writing. Welcome to RPR and dont worry dear^^ there is plenty of paitence people who will be paitence with you and help you out and such. Im not a very good teacher myself so i couldnt personally help but still xD And dont worry, roleplaying isnt very hard, you'll get the hang of it quite fast and with time develope your skills more and more. Atleast i feel like i've personally grown quite alot since i first started and that was only a few years ago. Since around 2015 something. But im no expert just yet, i got a long way to go to be called that xD Anywaayyy i hope you will enjoy your stay and if you need help or guidence then feel free to ask me or well pretty much anyone around here. There will pretty much always be someone around to help.

When getting started with RP, I really recommend this primer on basic RP concepts as a starting place. Even if you have some RP experience, it can be a nice way to see what the general norm is here.
When it comes to starting RPs, most people start in the Looking For RP forum to find some other players. There's also a search tool that will help you find what you're looking for within that forum - click "Find RP" in the top menu, then "join game" then scroll to the bottom to adjust your preferences for game types. If you want more info on using that search tool, here's a handy help article.
If you end up joining someone else's RP, they'll let you know the details about how to join in.
If you're starting up your own RP, you have a few choices about how to proceed once you've found a RP partner or two.
By the by, you can use the "launch chat" button at the top and bottom of any forum topic, whether it's in a private group forum or our public RP forums, to turn your topic into a real time chat! There's also a link in the sidebar of private messages that will let you do the same.
I'm sure you're finding your way around okay so far, but just in case, if you need help, there's a couple things you can try. Probably the first thing to try is just typing your question into the search box, or you can go to the Help section to see a list of popular articles. If that fails, everyone here is awesome and friendly. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or suggestions!
