The Kingdom of Selene: one thought to last forever - had risen to prominence through the power of its artificers, controlling great machines, constructing marvelous buildings and engineering a world of plenty. As they worked the family which had brought the technique of imbuing magic into items quickly rose to nobility then through adoption to royalty. Even discovering a way to animate rock and metal to form living creatures, capable of serving those who lived in Selene
Under their leadership, the practice of artificing flourished, yet one thing changed, all artificers were required to wear a silver hood and mask, symbolizing their devotion to the collective of the nation. Technology was exclusively kept within the nation, the strength of the artificers being used to keep the borders and people safe within their haven.
Outside nations fought, made and broke treaties and yet the coastal, desert nation of Selene did nothing. Treating itself as if it existed in a void, outside nations were forgotten and records of them forbidden, their memories left to die.
Then one day, the youngest family member was slain, their body burned from the fires of an artificers blade. Something which threw the entire nation into chaos. Can any of the elusive artificers be trusted? Will the killer strike again? Is any member of royalty safe?
Brimstone
The capital of Selene, a city of marble and limestone, of dizzying towers and sparkling fountains. Polished bridges lie between impeccably chiseled buildings, creating streets above streets, a maze of beautiful architecture.
Between streets and houses run crystalline clear, clean and pure canals of astoundingly blue water, upon which float exquisitely built ships. Squares stand at every corner, shining fountains surrounded by lush grass, no blade standing out of line. The city is a paradise, built by the hands of artificers.

The main aim of the rp will be to attempt to unravel the mystery behind the killing and prevent another one from occuring. Although exploring the world and meeting NPCs on the way is highly encouraged.
