One of our female dogs is in heat, and my dog will NOT SHUT UP. I have locked him in my room with me, but he keeps whining, panting, pacing, jumping on windows and I just want him to calm down. I know this last a month, he wants her bad, and he wants to... well... you know. Does anyone know a solution that doesn't involve a shock collar, someone babysitting him or anything too harsh?

Basically, you're sort of screwed. There's no good advice for this situation beyond separate them... really separate them. As long as they can smell each other, it's going to be an issue. Spay and Neuter.
