Marik began walking to the old combat grounds with Jay. Zan's cronies spat at his feet and smirked as he walked by, the other wolves choosing to keep quiet in fear.

Jay noticed some hoots and hollers as she when by, and she huffed, turning her nose upwards and flicking her tail.

"Ok Jay" he whispered to her. "It's very important that if you see my getting destroyed and battered out there, you mustn't rush in and do anything... I don't want you getting hurt..."

Jay nodded. "R-right.... But that won't end up happening...."

"No, I'm hoping not..." He looked down

Jay licked his cheek gently.

He nuzzles her then sighs, thoughts racing through his mind

"I know you can do it...."

He looked down "This is to the death... Even if I did get the upper hand, I don't know if I could bring myself to kill another wolf"

Jay nuzzled his cheek. "Just bring him to point so that he can't fight anymore.... That's all you need to win."

"I guess yeah..." He still looked worried

"You'll be fine.... I know you'll be...."

He smiles up at her. "I'm glad I have such a supporting mate"

She smiled and gently licked his cheek affectionately and encouragingly. "Always...."

The reach the combat circle. "I have to leave you now..." Marik said quietly.

".... And I know you'll be back, my dear...."

He nuzzled her cheek. "See you later..."

"I know you will...."

He gave her one last look before walking into the combat circle.

Zan was already there. "Saying a last goodbye to your petty female?" He smirked.

"Cut the talk Zan" Marik snapped at him.
