Jay snarled slightly at Zan.

Zan scoffed.

Suddenly, a wolf who sat on top of a rock overlooking the circle spoke. "Combat for the position of Alpha will now begin. On one side we have the current Alpha, Zan" a few wolves cheered at this. "On the other side, we have the son of the previous Alpha, Marik" a few of Zan's cronies boo'd but a few cheers rang out from the back of the crowd, instantly shushed by Zan's supporters. "The fight will be for he death"

Moon stepped up slightly. "What if one of the wolves is no longer able to fight? Will the opposing wolf win?"

"It Is to the death" the wolf repeated.

"But what of mercy? How about if a wolf is not able to continue, they leave for good? Never to disturb you again, and if they are to do so, it is punished by death, hm?"

"It's the tradition" the wolf let out a low growl at Moon

"It's only been a 'tradition' for 6 moons, and I should know that a Pack's habit can only become a tradition after a year!"

Some of Zan's cronies snapped at Moon to be quiet.

Moon smirked. "Heh, so I guess you all know that I'm right, then?"

Some of the wolves start growling loudly at moon.

Marik walks over. "Its alright moon, I don't want you getting hurt too"

"Okay, but are you sure you'll be able to do it? Kill another wolf, I mean."

"To protect my friends... yes"

Moon nodded, smiling slightly. "I wish upon you the best of luck, my dear friend.:

"Thanks" he nodded and returned to the circle. "I am ready" he said, taking a defensive position.

Zan smirked. "So am I" He hunched his back, snarling.

"Good luck, my love...." Jay whispered to herself.

"Both sides are ready, begin!" The wolf shouted.

Immediately Zan charged at Marik snarling. Marik only just managed to dodge the attack. Zan made a quick u-turn and charged back at Marik. Again, Marik only just dished the attack.

Jay's heart leaped into her throat as she watched anxiously.

"You can't keep running forever coward" Zan smirked.

This angered Marik and he leapt forward, swiping a paw across Zan's face, leaving a large Gash.

Zan howled in pain and slammed into Marik, sending him flying into the ground.

Marik yelped but got up again.

Jay shifted her paws nervously, silently praying in her head.

Zan charged him again. This time Marik rose up onto his back paws and swiped at Zan. Zan swiped at him too, leaving a large scratch on Marik's shoulder. Marik yelped in pain but swiped back, catching Zan across the chest. The two wolves dropped onto their front paws Again, growling.
