Hey there. It's been quite a while since I've actually touched this site beyond the dashboard. So as you could tell, I've kind of starved myself of any sort of creative endeavour for quite a while now. So much so that I am willing to piggyback off of a world famous IP just to get the juices flowing again, but I digress.

I've been having cravings of doing an RP based around the world and lore of Warhammer fantasy for quite a long while now, but I've never seen an actual group roleplay that revolves around the setting since I took my first steps onto this site (It'd be awesome if I was corrected, though). I'm not picky on the timeline, and I've never actually gleamed through a page of the End Times series, but that's the beauty of fan-fiction in that we can manifest our own events manufactured by our own characters.

Anyone who has RP'd with me to some extent will know that my style is incredibly freeform. There are no rules, so long as it weaves a good setting (Of course, your character will need to have some backstory that revolves around the world of Warhammer). I am fine with extensive paragraphs that add to the plot, or even just a few concise sentences.

Reply below if you're interested, and perhaps then we could discuss a starting point for our plot.

I like the kind of setting, but I'm not dreadfully familiar with Fantasy outside of the races and some religious stuff. Is that fine?

You my friend may have read my mind. Been playing Total War: Warhammer 2 and you wanting an RP in one of my favorite settings is perfect. I know a lot about most of the world especially the Old World, Nehekhara, Lustria, Norsca, Ulthwan and Naggarond (Basically 80% of the total world) so I can work with anything. I can work with pretty much any race. Just give me a location and I can make a character for it. A rough time period in universe too. I assume you want to go pre End Times but that gives centuries to work with if you wanted to go back pre-Sigmar ect. (I may be asking for more then needed but meh I enjoy over thinking )

Much appreciated to the both of you. I'm not too bothered with the choice of race, but do not expect for us to be banding together if Dwarves are your main thing.

As for setting, I was thinking around the coast of Tilea or near Saratosa (A bit of pirate action), at least for that starting point anyway. In terms of timeline, I'd say after Karl Franz' coronation as Emperor, so pretty much around the timeline of the Total War games anyway. If our RP manages to get quite far, our characters could potentially bear witness to the Storm of Chaos and even clunk a few ruinous heads while we're at it. I don't particularly know how that will work out, because although I have never taken a page out of the End Times, I've done enough research to know that nearly everybody dies.

That's absolutely fine. I'm not particularly picky since I'd never consider myself to be a total Loremaster of Warhammer anyway. So long as there's room for a character influenced by the setting, feel free to jump in.

I'll try get around to making the first page tomorrow, since at the time I am writing this I've just finished an evening work shift, so I am mentally exhausted at this hour.

Wonderful to hear. A pirate setting would be cool. I've actually been looking into the Pirates of Sartosa and Dogs of War (the mercenary/ criminal underworld basically) and there's a large variety of races there. Humans (various nations), Elves (Dark and High), Skaven (obviously not so much 'accepted' as just on the landmass), Dwarves (probably a couple about the drunken rabble) and Ogres mostly.
The time setting works good. Pre End Times at a point where anything is available. Was there any main plot in mind or is it just start of in a rough direction and see where it lands?

The plot itself revolves around a Skaven incursion which has collapsed upon itself. As a consequence, a toxic Juggernaught has gone rogue and is roaming the coastline of the Old World, infecting settlements with Skaven plagues that threaten to seep into the urban cities. Condeming the Old World to a slow, pox-ridden death before the Everchosen even arrives.

So your character (who I believe is a Skaven captain who got caught in a mutiny I believe?) has had his ship stolen and the ship was going to be used as a weapon to crash into Luccini and unleash a devastating plague upon the city and lead it into a pest ridden mess where the Skaven could thrive and loot while all others died?

Exactly, although with the ship roaming across the Old World, as well as under the leadership of a rogue Captain, it's not just the Southern Realms who are going to experience the pestilent epidemics the Skaven have to offer.

I have a question. I'm not sure if they exist in Warhammer lore but Half-Elves. Elves with a Human parent? Are they something that could be done? I got an idea but would like to know if it's valid to go off for a character. I haven't heard anything about it in lore (though I haven't dug too deep) but I assume like in most fantasy settings there's at least the possibility. Likely hybrids are killed at birth or outcasts that often die off or even join the Druchii due to such discrimination and the High Elves superiority complex.

Ok so after asking about it would seem as they don't exist. But would you be against me playing one for the plot? I have some ideas to make him a special case (magic and the like) if not that's ok

I don't think that there's any Half-Elves in Warhammer canon, so if you were going to create a character like that I'd personally presume that being some sort of expelled outcast or roaming vagabond would likely be the only backstory to go off. All Elves in Warhammer, including the Druchii are veeeery arrogant when it comes to racial purity.

Then again, I imagine that the average Druchii outlaw will follow anyone capable of partaking in devious and exquisite torture better than them, even some half-born mudblood.

Yea. I thought about it and they don't exist in lore (I think mentions existed in 1st or 2nd edition) but not now. I have an idea to play one that was born from more magical means. Likely some form of pact/ spell with the assistance of Slaanesh. A sort of magical experiment of sorts. This would be more for his own character and personality then a big lore thing.

Sounds pretty cool. I'm more for the aspect of creative freedom, so policing what can and what can't be possible because 'canon says so' is something that I'm going to avoid. The only thing I'd really shake my head at is something really ridiculous like a Dawi slayer (or Dwarfs in general for that matter) deciding to band together with a Skaven, or any other creature touched by chaos for that matter.

I think we all know how vengeful and stubborn Dawi are in the lore to know how that situation would end up.

Oh of course. I'm up for being flexible but nothing crazy. Something that can have an argument razed for it working. Glad to hear you're up for the idea. I look forward to seeing how this RP goes. Many possibilities.
