Brie noticed Wolfen's eyes." Why don't you go on without me" It'll be faster."
"I'm not in the habit of leaving my friends.... or family, behind. You want to know why I recruited you Brie, why I asked that you join me?" He pace was set and determination was flaring.
"Why?" Brie looked around, checking for anymore soldiers.
"You remind me of the man who wore that armor before you. We always called him Ranger. You look and act just like him, he and Canterous were the closest things to family I had... he was the Commander too." Wolfen smiled at him, yellow eyes giving him a somewhat sinister look.
"Oh. I guess they all died then."
"Your family." Brie looked at him.
Wolfen stopped and was silent a moment. "They were part of my clan.... they were killed a long with everyone else at the hands of Adventous.... I won't let that happen again!" He started moving again, taking care to not hurt Brie anymore than he already is.
"First Adventous,now Olmec. We just attract danger. Epecially you and Anua."
"Being different, stronger, faster, smarter... all of those things breed danger. All you can do is continue forward, and hope for the best.... Even when you were with Olmec, you were still treated as an outsider... why else would you have left. You feel more comfortable with us because we're different too... am I right?"
Brie blinked." I guess. You sure can read me easily." He looked at him.
"No normal person could as much as you have in one year, anyway Can you walk on your own yet?"
"Yeah." He pulled away from Wolfen." We need to hurry. I have a bad feeling."
"Yeah. We'd better hurry before something really bad happens to Anua."
"Alright, one place is an abandoned farm just a little further out, the other is a cave down by the river. I suggest we split up, I'll take the cave, I can travel a lot faster than you and back tracking won't be as difficult for me to do. Just keep heading east you can't miss it."
"Okay." Brie headed the direction of the farm.
"If they aren't there then the cave is just due north on this side of the river. Stay in the shadows."
"You got it." Brie left.
