"I'll make us something to eat, can't have any of us losing anymore of strength than we already have. Get your sleep until the food is ready." He looked to see if Anua was still awake or not, and heard her steady breathing. "Help me put her in the bed gently please."
Brie gently got Anua off Wolfen's back and put her in the bed. He then laid on the floor near a wall and fell asleep.
He made a stew with potatoes, chicken, carrots, and beef. served with bread and white rice.
Anua stirred and woke up from the smell. She sat up and yawned.
He put the rice in the bottom of the bowl and the stew on top of it. giving them each a bowl and spoons and a piece of bread.
Anua and brie ate. Anua finished first before looking around.
"You should get more rest now that you've eaten. Brie should be off of his meds soon so he'll be able to keep up watch again a little later on."
Anua looked down." Do you think Adventous knows about us?" She looked at Wolfen.
"I don't know what he does and doesn't know. He's killed every woman I've tried to be with since he killed my first family, and nobody knew about them, at least, I hadn't thought anybody did. He's the prime when it come's to espionage, nobody could make his skill when it came to knowing something."
Anua looked down." So me and Brie are your weakness?"
"No, you have it the wrong way around... You're my strength." he looked into her eyes, not wavering for one second in his conviction for his remark.
"But if he hurts us, you get hurt." Tears welled up in her eyes.
He put his bowl on the floor and sat next to her, putting his arms around her. "It just means I have all the more reason to fight for what I care about." He brushed her tears of her cheeks.
She looked up at him." I should probably leave so I won't be collateral damage."
"Don't be ridiculous." He grabbed her hand when she said that. Besides, he knows your face now, so if you go, he'll target you anyways."
Anua's body shook as more tears slid down her face." But I don't want to be someone who can cause you pain." Her voice cracked slightly.
He didn't say anything. Holding her against him as she cried, he tried to soothe her emotions.
"Why do you love me"? I'm n-nothing but a blind girl that c-can't stop geting hurt." Anua looked up at him.
"Because you're smart, sweet, beautiful, caring. Everything I've always wanted in a woman."
Anua sniffed." So you would put yourself in danger just for love?" She wiped her eyes.
