This RP will be loosely based in the ready player one setting, I say loosely as I have edited multiple things to suit how this RP works ( and plus i don't know much of the lore of ready player one so i have made my own) and you don't actually need to have watched ready player one in order to understand the concept.
For those who don't know the setting it is in the near future, poverty is at an all time high and major cities have pratically turned into junkyards....the world is not a nice place to be so the Oasis was created a virtual reality world were you can become whoever you want and do whatever you want. It is a way for people to forget the struggles of lie, sound fun doesn't it?
However there is issue's first off the Oasis is the ultimate pay to win game, you need credits for everything and 2nd it spawned an organization which is frankly just lure evil.
since I don't know the actual lore of ready player one I am just going to call the organization Tombstone, and Tombstone makes both the real world and the Oasis hell, basically they are a corrupt military/ police force and plenty of people who get into debt with them are turned into practical slaves for the company.
And that is basically the entire setting.
Now onto the rules and story, for this RP I need us to have both a real world character and a Oasis character and the story is we meet in the Oasis and we slowly become friends and as we become closer friends we eventually meet each other in real life (romance possible) all the while Tombstone grows in power and makes life hell as a sub-plot.
And the main plot of the RP is the friendship/romance between our characters as our world falls into Tombstones hands.

Magic is rare, but not unheard of. Mundane characters may or may not believe in it. Magical characters may form small and exclusive pockets for study, protection, etc.
Near future, perhaps cloning and genetic manipulation
Unrest may be part of the setting, but any scenes that happen to involve combat may be summarized.
