Shay looked up and then back at the door. "Oh, thanks." He saw now how it fit onto the door. "I see. Thanks for the water."
He got to work and in a matter of an hour, had a new bolt-lock in place. Wooden, sturdy, and functioning.
He stood back. "Give it a try. I promise you it'll stand up to just about everything supernatural." The bolt-lock would too, it'd be the door that would need reinforcement. But he didn't think that'd be a problem for her out here. "Whatcha think? Wanna give it a try?" It would work smoothly, if she did.

Shinia nodded and locked the door then tried opening it, "Doesn't budge, it works! Thanks!"
She looked out the window to see if it was night. Yes. Quickly, she dashed to the window and opened it. Sticking her head out, she sniffed the air smelling elk, "The elk are back!" she smiled then thought she was acting like a wolf and added, "I have good smelling!"
Hearing an elk call, her head turned and she blinked. I've got to go hunt! she thought. Her feet shuffled and she turned back, "It's late, you should be getting back to your home!"
Getting out her bow an throwing her arrow pouch with arrows in over her shoulder, she smiled, "It's a big herd! VERY big herd... might aswell go hunt for some meat!" Quickly, she then went out the door and disappeared into the shadows.
She then looked up at the moon to see it was changing and so was she. It was turning full in the middle of the night! How? She knew she was changing and hid her bow and arrows in a bush. As she ran, her feet turned to hind paws and legs then she fell to all fours, her hands turned to paws as she raced to the herd.
After a while, she had caught a elk and had started to eat it. She lifted up her head and howled.

He grinned, thrilled by how happy Shinia was by the simple lock. "Anytime," he said. And then she was throwing open the window and mentioning elk.
"What?" It was late, dark, and while he could pick out the smell of blood through the stench of an alley, he wasn't that good with animals.
Then she was telling him to get lost. Well, it was late and he did need to get back to town. "Very well, have a good night." He'd head back the way he had come...pausing only when he heard the wolf howl.
His hand went to the silver dagger at his hip. "It's probably just a wolf," he told himself, though he kept his eyes peeled for trouble.

As an elk ran past her, she growled. It was young and fast. Good. Shinia began to chase it but stopped when she saw a human. It smelt like Shay. She couldn't really see through the shadows of the watchful trees. Forgetting she was in her werewolf form, she walked up to him. She tried to speak but only deep barks came out. She shut her jaw quickly.
How stupid! Walking up to a hunter in wolf form! she thought shaking her head.
Her hackles rose as she walked backwards into the bushes trying not to make any sound. She tripped and tumbled over into the light.
So stupid... she growled in her head.
Her blue eyes seemed to glow in the light showing that she was no normal wolf, plus she could never be mistaken for a wolf becaus of her massive size! About 3 times the normal wolf size. She lowered her head and leapt back into the bushes.
She ran off.

Cradling the crossbow to his chest, he kept alert, ready to fire if something so much as approached. But while his senses were alert, his reaction time was much slower.
Sure he'd heard the wolf, but he hadn't actually expected to meet one. Let alone the size of this one.
He didn't see it until it was too late and by then it was...barking?...at him. When he managed to bring his crossbow up to point it at the creature, it was already running away. Not that it mattered--the point of his crossbow wavered slightly. Those eyes...he knew those eyes...
"The hell is going on here...?" he asked himself, and then turned and sprinted for Shinia's hut. Forget the town, he had to check on Shinia. "Shinia!"

No reply came from the hut. Shinia glared at him through the trees. I have to lure him away! she thought.
Snapping at the air, she made a loud sound like whining but deeper and more threatening. She then noticed what she was doing and twisted round. Her tail rose and she then growled again.
Her eyes darted from him to the moon. It was going down! Oh no! That was short... Her tail then disappeared and she dashed into the trees.
Stumbling out of the forest, she was in her human form and exhausted.
"W-what happened..." she said shaking her head, "Must of been werewolf disaster-" seeing Shay she froze, "Ergh..." she then rubbed her mouth. Blood! Elk Blood. Oh how stupid!

"Shinia?" He pitched his voice louder, and would have tried the door despite the lock he'd fixed on it. Still, nothing could have prepared him for seeing Shinia stumble out of the woods, with blood on her.
He had his crossbow aimed at her chest, his eyes wide in horror as he took in her disheveled appearance. "What are you doing out here?!"
But deep down in his gut, he had the uneasy feeling that there was more to this story than a girl living simply on her own. Mentally he was processing the broken lock, the wolf scratches inside the hut, the sighting of the wolf, and now the uncanny arrival of Shinia.
The expression on his face more than likely showed he'd pieced it together. "You're the werewolf..."

She nodded slightly, "Yes, i-i am a werewolf..." she sighed, "But... i didn't want to be it! I really don't want to hurt anyone!" she then noticed the crossbow, "You ganna shoot? Go ahead!" she snapped.
Shinia's gaze didn't leave the crossbow. Putting her hand on her knife hilt, her feet shuffled.
"Go on then! Shoot!" she said tensing herself.
Shaking a little, she thought about what she was doing. Why say to a hunter to shoot you? Im too scared to do this... she thought.

He flinched when she yelled at him to shoot; but his finger wasn't even on the trigger. How could he shoot her? It wasn't fair!
He lowered the crossbow, ready to bring it up if she should charge him. His eyes never left hers though. "First, explain the blood on your chin. Who, what does it belong to?"
If it belonged to a person, he would have no choice. But...given she was out in the boonies with no one really out here...maybe it was something else. An animal or something. He prayed it was the latter.

She rubbed the blood off with her sleeve, "What do you think? I was out hunting elk... It's elk blood..."
Looking to the horizon, she saw the sunrise. She smiled then turned back and frowned, "I have to say..." she said, "What a nice crossbow!"
Shinia put her hands on her hips and kicked a rock high in the air then catching it in her hand. Her fingers tapped her thigh as she waited for the sun to come up fully.
Sunlight was the only thing that made her happy because she was a werewolf at night but at day, she was human!
Her gaze met his, "So are you going to shoot? I killed something... will you have to shoot me for it?" Her eyes narrowed as she glared at him.

"Oh." Shay lowered the crossbow so that the point was aimed safely at the ground. "No, I'm not going to shoot you." He probably should, but, well, who was going to know?
At the mention of his crossbow, however, he grinned. "You like it? I've spent a pretty penny trying to improve it. I can nail a wolf at 45 yards. And I've made improvements along the way here and there." Never mind the fact he'd just threatened her with it.
With daylight upon them however he relaxed. He didn't remove the bolt from his crossbow but he did keep it pointed at the ground. "Are you the only wolf out here then?"

Shinia shook her head, "Im not the only wolf... there's a girl named Alari, the youngest werewolf around here, who lives with her step-father and pack, she can't leave their pack home... she's only six!"
Looking at the ground, she sighed, "I'm not ganna be that fun to be around tonight..." She said.

Shay sighed when he heard about the werewolf pack. "So...let me guess, you want me to turn a blind eye to them too?" He fidgeted, mumbling under his breath: "I come out here to protect humans and instead I find the pest control is out of control."
He arched a brow at Shinia's comment. "What do you mean I don't want to be around? Is it supposed to be another blood moon? Do the other weres go nuts?"

"Atleast you can let that one pack live! They are far from human kind!" she hissed, "And no... i don't know why but only two of us werewolves goes nuts. Me and this other one named Ryv."
She watched as the sun hit the highest it could get. Shinia turned back to Shay. A small mischievous smiled appeared on her face and she leapt into the forest, disappearing into the shadows. Watching him through the shadows, she flexed her hand.
Im now disliked nearly everywhere in this god forsaken place! she thought.

Shay frowned. Things just kept getting more and more complicated. "Well, if they're far away..." he shook his head. What was wrong with him?! He should be hunting them down and dispatching them with single-minded determination. Not analyzing the pros and cons with a werewolf! Let alone one that turned into some craven monster during the blood moon.
"Then you should probably pass on the word; if the villagers are in trouble, and they require my skills, I won't stop to help them." He hoped the warning was clear: he would take down any Were that crossed his path.
Then the next moment she was grinning at him and running off. Did she want him to follow, or...? "Where are you going?' he called after her.

Shinia stopped, "Yes!" she called back, "it's a place to keep you safe during Blood moon!"
A small rock shook as she skidded to a halt. A house stood untouched on a hill. The house of Lupin meaning: the house of the wolf. She waited for Shay to catch up.

Shay followed a little reluctantly. How did he know she wasn't going to eat him? Because, well, if she was going to, she would have already. Still, he eyed the rock house dubiously.
"This is where you want me to hole up? Or is this where you want to change?" Actually, if he could rig it so that a person could climb in or out but that a wolf couldn't, maybe that would be more beneficial to the werewolves? It was a thought.

"Just stay in here tonight, will you?" she sighed, "It would be much easier than you having to run away from a maniac wolf."
The sun slowly began to fall, "How come day is like 3 hours..."

Shay offered a wry smile. "I gotta admit, this is probably the first time a Were has tried to protect me."
At her comment about the day, he looked up at the sky. "I'm willing to bet there's some dark magic at work here." The unintended pun worked better than he meant it to. He frowned. "If there is magic at work here, I wonder where it's coming from."

A young female walked around the woods. She wasn't frightned of the woods. She had her long brown hair in a braid down her back and was wearing a forest green coat with ripped jeans. She held her knife in her right hand and left her left hand on her side. She wasn't exactly sure what she was doing, She just liked the woods.
Cielle wasn't suppose to be out this late but why not? She liked the woods, especially at night. She glanced up at the moon and noticed its different frame. It looked unusual...But she shrugged it off. She kept on walking around.
