By day, the city of Gotham is a perfect representation of modern living with a self-sufficient economy, beautifully crafted architecture, and home to the nation’s wealthiest businessmen. This is just a mask.
After the sun sets...when the shadows of night creep over...another world reveals itself from the bowels of the lower city and consumes the streets with a paralyzing fear. None but the criminals, the bravest and the foolish venture outside once the sun has set. Things are darker now than they have ever been before. Crime rates skyrocket, villainous criminals terrorize and murder at will. Worst of all the hero's have been laying low, labelled as no better than the criminals of Gotham by the GCPD.
Eve let's out a sigh. It's a cold night on the streets of Gotham, her breath swirls out of her mouth like cigarette smoke. She is well hidden in the shadows of an alley way, trying to lay low after almost being caught for petty burglary earlier that night. She is no criminal, but how else is she meant to survive? She takes a swig from the bottle of Whiskey that she stole from a store a few blocks away on her way here. She enjoys how the alcohol burns her throat. Just as she was about to sit on the floor she hears footsteps coming her way and freezes, no one ever comes down here, she thinks to herself as she prepares to either fight or flee...(enter your character)...

Oz's feet hit the ground hard as he took a sharp turn and barrelled down the alley. Other footsteps sounded behind him, but he didn't dare look back. He already had a nasty cut from some kind of knife thrown at him. Most people would be glad that it was only knives, but Oz really just felt even worse for it. Knives meant it was something to do with one of the costumed villains in town, or something even worse. God, if he'd somehow gotten on the wrong side of one of those shadow military groups that were always floating around Gotham...
He saw Eve almost too late. He swore loudly as he tried to slide to a stop, the slick Gotham streets not really helping his cause. He ended up slamming into one of the walls instead of her, wincing as the brick hurt his shoulder. That was going to leave a nasty bruise, if nothing worse. He was about to continue running when a voice called down the alley.
"Stop, thief!" Against his better judgement, Oz did. He looked back. A woman in a half-face mask was pointing a long sword in his direction. "You and your accomplice can't escape the League of Shadows!" The woman now pointed at Eve. Did she think Eve was working with him?
