So me and my girlfriend (who has yet to make an account) recently wandered into this lovely community. It looks promising, and we want to get involved. :> We come from a MUCH smaller community of about 30 people who had a long lasting website - two years - but unfortunately, as many times it does, real life got in the way for a lot of the participants on that site and the activity slowly dwindled. We decided it's time to find somewhere else to roleplay.
Though we'll join any RP that we take interest in, we want a stable, friendly group to RP with long term and that's ultimately what I'm looking for in this thread. Someone to write with not just through one RP, but many plots and stories!
We're a bit picky when it comes to our RPs. Qualities we look for are:
- Strong, diverse plots with many routes to take (and preferably those that avoid tropes such as zombie apocalypse, magic academy etc. unless there's a unique twist or expectation subversion)
- Realistic (for their setting) 3 dimensional characters. We value writing a lot, but we value characters and plot more.
- Maturity. Extends past strong language, we moreso value whether a group is willing to make an RP with dark and sensitive themes. We don't enjoy EVERY RP/plot being overly dark though.
- Our favorite genres are futuristic, science fiction, and fantasy and in our own ideas we tend to blend those three a lot but we're willing to give anything a go so long as it's plot driven, not slice of life. Sandbox plots are a-okay if the setting is strict and the group is active enough to continuously put forth ideas! Along with us of course.
- Activity and stability. People who have a passion for this and are willing to put time and effort into a plot and their characters. We sure will be!
- Literacy, as in, paragraph+ post limit.
When we find a group we like we are VERY dedicated and more than willing to bring ideas to the table. We're extremely passionate about character development; we have this joke that we say the characters write themselves because sometimes it truly feels like they do. I, especially, really enjoy getting to know other peoples' characters as well. I've been RPing with Howl so long I kinda know what to expect.
We can go anywhere from single paragraph style to multi-para, we rarely exceed four per post per character. We prefer groups that allow multiple characters as well, because we tend to create at least two, and typically more.
Reply below if you have a single RP, or even better, a dedicated group that shares our preferences! I'd love to meet some people and hopefully get involved in a good story.
