Been meaning to post this topic for a month but been too much of a coward. My RPing game is still a bit rusty...but I'm gonna do it this time! For reals!
I'm looking for 1x1 rp set in modern Los Angeles with (as the title suggests) Mafia, modern fantasy and supernatural elements. Your character doesn't need to have any inhuman attributes but the option is there! I would prefer a multi-paragraph/ lit RPer since that is what I most definitely am. Also the setting is not set in stone, nor do you have to join any faction. I actually prefer some worldbuilding from you too, I don't want to be the one constantly driving the plot.
I have a dedicated group to this setting but see below for a quick rundown of the setting and my characters.
AND I have this scratchpad list of prompts though we don't have to use any of them. They are mainly as thought starters!

Modern Los Angeles. For decades the D'Avanti crime family has had a vice grip on the city. However, in recent years, their power had started to wan as local street gangs push on to long-standing mafia territory and the city's newly elected mayor decreed to eradicate crime across the city.
An upsurge of tension fills the streets of LA as the crime family try to hold on to a crumbling empire, fresh-faced gangs make a grab for power and the LAPD fight to regain back the city.

Magic is rare. Some of the players might have it. There may be sages or other magical figures that could be sought out for tutelage.
Modern
Combat is woven into the storyline and could come to the forefront if the characters seek it out.
Details: Occasional dice use, paragraphs required, long-term RP partner preferred.
So... are you looking for multiple people to RP 1x1s with, or just one person to RP multiple 1x1s with? I'm a bit confused 
Oh sorry for the confusion! Hmmmm I guess I'm looking for a few people to RP 1x1 with. If it works out well, there is no reason we can't RP more 1x1s! OvO
It would be nice to rp with someone who has a similar interconnected character set like mine so that we can bounce ideas off of each other but I feel like that's asking for a lot.

That's definitely not too much to ask. Worldbuilding with someone is awesome. I'm definitely interested, my only issue is that I sometimes have problems worldbuilding long term if it's just one other person so I have an easier time with small group RPs that are built on multiple 1x1s... if that makes sense. That's why I was asking if you were taking multiple people so potentially in the future all of us could interconnect more plots/chars than just two peoples. 
OH I see what you mean! Yeah I'm totally fine with a small group of people too, if there are people interested! I mean, I have a group set up so more people can definitely come. uvu
I can edit the original post to be a bit more ambiguous about the number of peeps needed. uvu I just want to RP a bit, my goal was a bit short-sighted. I'm also kinda....not that confident that I can attract that many people so I'm setting the bar pretty low for myself.

Sweet, because I have another person who wants to join the chaos. Can you explain a little more in depth what your lore definition of a demon is? I suppose Alex is technically one...? And I have one in mind as well, but the idea I got was a little less every day human and more extremely powerful ethereal beings that typically lack any sort of moral judgement.
I'm not 100% sure on this but my initial character concept was a pair of twins from a different crime family who want to ally with the D'Avanti family; taking a bit of shameless inspiration from your one prompt. The whole family is human, with no magical history but they have an in depth knowledge of the magic world. They have a policy of working with demons, or moreso bending them to their will with a contract. If you're familiar with the anime Black Butler, it's similar but I'm not sure if the price of a contract will always necessarily be a soul. Anyways, the twins are shadowed by a demon contracted to their father so they're fairly confident in getting involved with the magic world. Of course if you're attached to the more human iteration of demons, I could always alter this.

My definition of 'demon' is pretty loose just so that I can keep it inclusive. Basically, I would call a demon any evil-leaning creature that doesn't fall within a standard category (like werewolf or vampire) and most of them are non-humanoid.
Sooo...basically, they are the minority miscellaneous of the world. Their shape, powers, and intelligence vary from creature to creature. Some can shape-shift, some look human, some eat souls, some are, in fact, directly linked to hell, some are just horrifying primal beasts. It's really all super open.
I'm ok with what you suggested! To be honest, I don't watch much anime so I'm not all that familiar with Black Butler besides a bit of the concept. But I don't see any problems with what you brought up! OvO

We never started a group RP! I think it was just purposed above as an idea so far.
